I'm dead inside but my body keeps moving. Critical of the State of Alabama; it's awful. Videographer, artist, and programmer. Unemployable cripple and monster.

Recently had a Basque cheesecake for the first time. Strange texture to it. Not sure where the effective difference comes from. Supposedly it's the charred exterior but I feel like there's something more there that distinguishes it from the New York-style cheesecake to which I am most accustomed.

Also took this most excellent "Bigfoot Spotted!"-esque photo of the alpha red peccary through a pair of binoculars. To date I've seen two of these critters, and only two.

The actor William Campbell (who plays the Klingon Koloth from TOS through to DS9 [S02E19 "Blood Oath" specifically) really sounds rather remarkably like Paul Eiding, the voice actor who plays Colonel Roy Campbell in the Metal Gear Solid series (English dub). Interesting coincidence!

I have every reason to believe that Leyak and Krasue share spawn points, so I've got a good idea where they tend to first appear and along which routes (routing after spawn is a different story, I don't think they move quite the same way) they are likely to traverse. Not much blocks them.

I came to the conclusion that while a greyeb on its own is okay-ish and creepy meat pie on its own seemingly useless(?) I found that sitting in the frozen crossroads eating BOTH food objects at the same time would stack two separate status effects, maybe. It summoned Krasue w/ best frequency.

Oh yeah, I managed to cram that goofus Krasue into a containment unit inside of my main base in Cascade Labs. While trying to bait him into the other cell in the frozen part of Residence Sector, I managed to warp at such a time that he spawned instantly inside of my base and tripped the one OX lamp.

Unfortunately, all this ABF is making me crave a terrible thing: I'm gonna probably play the current Rust wipe and reckon with whatever the Hell that game has become. They've changed a lot since I last played it.

Also gives me a chance to try out a circuit I've been sitting on.

Here are some random shots of interesting and powerful things in my base.
1) skinks can be housed in pest traps back at base (needed for renaming them)
2) Zip shield on pedestal
3) A very safe portal toilet
4) My first quantum battery

Also over here we have the craft services table because you can just deploy food and it'll stay good until you grab it.

Wrapped up a few shield collections:

When your cat can't accompany you to the bathroom in the middle of the night: high-security portal toilet. Took me a while to see the wisdom in just installing a splitter onto this but what a result!
January 9, 2026 at 9:04 AM
Oh yeah, forgot the last thing I wanted to build, for which I needed a sum total of THREE (3) frozen essences, the exquisitely expensive, true end-game items: the quantum battery and the charging pad. Absolutely brilliant devices! Well, the charge pad is. I'm still confused about the quantum battery

Unexpectedly, the Cascade Armor also has one tier of upgrades that can be performed, but these too require frozen essence and yeti fur. It's actually the latter that's giving me Hell to obtain atm.
January 9, 2026 at 8:03 AM
Things I've upgraded w/ the frozen essence:
1) a rifle (150 damage per shot plus freeze effect! Wow!)
2) That which used to be the base level chitinous armor (armor level 24 on that)
3) That which used to be the Makeshift armor (also armor level 24)

Both armors have huge cold resistance.
January 9, 2026 at 8:03 AM
They do seem tangibly more effective together than either one is apart from the other so surely there must be something to this.
January 9, 2026 at 6:45 AM
However, and I can't prove this mind you, but it's entirely possible that eating BOTH a greyeb and a Creepy Meat Pie slice together might summon Krasue with the shortest interval between spawns. The idea is that it stacks two separate IS-0091 summoning statuses.
January 9, 2026 at 6:45 AM
Alright, false alarm. I think he just has some kind of multi-minute cooldown a lot like the Reaper (IS-0059)
January 9, 2026 at 6:24 AM
Not sure I necessarily recommend this though. Now that I've captured him once and let him out he's suddenly reluctant to appear here (or at all) anymore? ?>;/
January 9, 2026 at 6:19 AM
Unfortunately, I need 10 frozen essences so I might actually have to let Krasue out of the bag so I can explicitly farm him. Gotta upgrade two sets of armor and build at least one quantum battery. The fact they have upgrades for these armors but none for the Hexwood armor mildly bothers me.

Beyond that, I've been really systematically cooking every possible recipe in the game. I don't think there's any sort of prize for doing this, I'm just curious what each soup is since you only know it as "theoretical soup" until you cook it.
January 9, 2026 at 5:58 AM
Simpler to understand when you just see it in action. Now I will simply accumulate frozen essence every day at 06:00AM. Granted, this is less than the rate one can get it by actively eating greyebs and hunting the guy, but it's also much more passive and requires less thought.
January 9, 2026 at 4:18 AM
Anyway, my task now seems clear to me. I have put it all into this convoluted chart that actually illustrates an extremely simple concept of putting a trap for Krasue right here. Means running a very long power cable chain though. Blegh.
January 9, 2026 at 2:58 AM
Weirdly, Creepy Meat Pie doesn't seem to work on Krasue. Actually, I dunno how it really works with Leyak either so I guess it's difficult for me to evaluate the efficacy. From the verbiage and UI hints I would assume it summons Leyak very expediently, even compared with the greyeb. But Krasue? Nah.
January 9, 2026 at 2:51 AM
Short of trapping it in a containment unit, I'm testing other methods for farming Krasue. Granted, I imagine he could be fucked with relatively easily but I've found that my base at the entrance of residence does not allow him to reliably path his way to me.

Better to be in a very open area like so
January 9, 2026 at 2:51 AM
My first full playthrough of the game Krasue would regularly come to my base with every intention of kicking my ass. In this playthrough he won't do it though ?:[
I've even been stocking up on ice cream just to keep him contained for a while. Gonna need a lot of his dumb orbs if I want top-tier shit
