Well, but also note that the Long Walls of Athens are fundamentally predicated on a strategic environment where your enemies are...at best minimally competent at siege warfare.

Assyrians, Macedonians, Romans could easily breach and cut such a long fortification; it only works on other Greeks!

She was great! She did a great job of explaining the nutrient, when and why it was added to grains (always to get rid of a disease that most of us have not heard of because the fortification worked)

The fortification scaremongering really bugs me b/c these same people are often hawking supplements

I got extremely busy earlier this year, but I'm back playing ASL. Just finished a great Ponyri scenario - SaP3 For The Fatherland. A wall of tough terrain and a stout fortification made the German advance slow, but they eventually broke the back of the Russians. @multimanpublishing.bsky.social

Despite how soggy it was, I'm actually very glad we hit this weather for Kotor. The mist and clouds give it such a good atmosphere.

IIRC, the dominant fortification material of the Napoleonic period was dirt, moved by the humble shovel.

I don't usually have a headache with it. The zigzag colored loop is a.k.a. teichopsia or fortification spectrum. Mine are closed ~loops that slowly expand, & are still visible with eyes shut. Above YouTube video is the closest I can find to what mine look like. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scintil...

Fortification is always good!

I actually only knew that because I looked it up during Septopolis to see if algae made sense as a food source 😂

So really, it's entirely to your credit!

That's what I get for responding during vidja games instead of googling real quick. 😂

There's probably other nutrients it lacks, so we might be able to find some other fortification they could use...

from my grandfather (an air force colonel who was close with his father in law), the basic idea was sort of that you could have a mobile fortification for planes and guys with parachutes but could not really get over the design constraint that it was a fortification which had to be lighter than air.

it’s only for rice that has been fortified, and not every state mandates fortification

The first thing I did when I got access to Creation Mode in #speedfreaks40k was build a recreation of the Big 'Ed Bossbunka, my favorite/the Worst fortification of all time and build a junkyard track around that

A hoard of Roman nails found at Inchtuthil, Perth and Kinross, Scotland, 87 AD. After the Roman army abandoned their forward fortification on the site they buried 875,400 iron nails on the site to prevent the enemy Caledonian tribes reforging the iron for weapons.

Yes. Cycling is great. But everyone is promoting cycling. Cadiz, Spain, has noticed that not all tourists can ride bicycles. Wow there were a lot of people rolling on wheelchairs and mobility scooters there in December 2024, many obviously tourists. Why not promote inclusive mobility in #yyj?

Topography and Settlements shape the fortifications.

What also interesting is that Fortification really hold the expansion.

Despite all the efforts no major fortification line been broken yet.
