Venus figure from the Siberian Paleolithic site of Mal'ta, dated approximately 24,000 BP. There is a leaf shaped mark on her right shoulder/breast and a hole drilled in the base, presumably indicating it was worn or hung as a pendant.

Archaeologists in China uncovered ceramic water pipes in Henan province, dating back more than 4000 years.

Found at Pingliangtai site in Central Plains, these pipes formed fully engineered drainage system, designed to control flooding and manage water across an ancient settlement

This is a section through the Roman road that ran through the centre of Dorchester (Durnovaria). The road was carefully built with steep sloping sides, a core of flint to add drainage, and hard-wearing gravel and clay surface. It can be seen at Dorset Museum & Art Gallery.

An 1100 year old Persian gold ewer, noted for its finely chased decoration and emblematic animal motifs. The piece reflects the high technical and artistic standards of medieval Iranian metalwork. It is currently housed in Arthur M. Sackler Gallery at the National Museum of Asian Art in Washington.

They could have been worn in the hair or clothing, and must have been quite expensive, since gold was imported from Egypt and was extremely rare.
