Legend Rock: Rock Art in Hot Springs County, Wyoming. Legend Rock enables visitors to view over 300 petroglyphs spanning a time-period of thousands of years. Although some of the beautiful etchings have suffered from various forms of erosion and human defacement, the majority is well preserved.

Doll Tor: Maintained by Historic England and the Peak National Park Authority, Doll Tor is a delightful little stone circle consisting of six standing stones, no more than a metre in height, with an adjoining cairn. The circle is approximately 6m by 4.

Kani Shaie Temple: Archaeologists in Iraq have unearthed the remains of building thought to have been a temple from the Uruk period (named after Uruk in southern Mesopotamia). This is when the first cities in the world were taking off. The structure dates from between about 3300 to 3100 BCE.

Yealm Steps: A fine example of enclosure and hut circles. Extensive prehistoric settlement area. Two villages contiguous, the larger pound a development of the smaller. Pound walls and those of huts consist of stone and turf. At least 22 huts within the enclosure.

There are thought to be about 50 #ClavaCairn style tombs within 80km of Inverness; the ‘much robbed’, yet beautifully atmospheric, Carn Daley, northwest of Drumnadrochit, is one of them #TombTuesday
