What’s ‘fun’ is that the bill says it is to prevent “genital mutilation and chemical castration of minors”

Except intersex ones. The bill dedicates 2 exemptions to allow that for people like me. They don’t even shy away from calling it mutilation.

It’s never been about protecting anyone.

this is quite a lot broader than just adding countries. It also removes exemptions - like family member immigrant visas- for the previous 19.
Expanding the travel ban to Syria leaves few options for the people who fought and defeated the Islamic State and are being increasingly threatened by the Syrian state.
BREAKING: The Trump administration expands travel ban to include Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger, South Sudan and Syria.

Oh that's not a rumor, we just had a knock down dragout in Congress last year about slot/perimeter exemptions

On the side of no more exemptions: FAA, DCA management, controllers, VA/MD delegations

On the side of more exemptions: Rafael Cruz (DCA-SAT direct baybee), airlines, Congress in general

3/ In our reporting, we found that consumers often have no way of knowing if the medications they are taking came from contaminated factories, or were outright banned from shipping drugs to the U.S., but then granted special exemptions to do so anyway.

This past week, we released a map detailing the Trump admin's legally dubious Clean Air Act exemptions for coal plants, chemical manufacturers & other facilities emitting toxic air pollutants. These exemptions will harm overburdened communities across the US. Here's how this interactive tool works:
How Trump’s Free Pass to Polluters will Harm Americans
More than one-third of coal plants and other polluting facilities have been exempted from clear air rules.

Oh and the exemptions for Czechia, Slovakia and Hungary are also bad

Majority voting is an effective way to take action

Opt outs/exemptions are the illusion of effectiveness to cover for the dismantling of solidarity and the principle of common gains/common costs

As Lisa Barker said: tired of the BS and the wildly unpredictability of the regime, Carney just said, “Fuck it. No Exemptions. No Negotiations. No carve-outs. We’ll wait until 2026, roll it into CUSMA, and wait for Trump to hang himself with his Epstein/Tariff Scam/Polling noose.”

Carney says U.S. tariff reprieve 'unlikely' to happen before CUSMA review talks
"Although if the United States wants to come back on that, in those areas, we're always ready there. We're very ready," said Carney.

A new bill up in the NJ statehouse would establish a 'historic diners' list and provide sales tax exemptions and tax credits for family-owned diners that had been in operation for 25 years or more. Diner owners say it is getting harder and harder to stay open. www.nj.com/politics/202...
New Jersey’s diners are struggling. New tax breaks proposed by state could save them.
New Jersey loves its diners. But they are a dying breed in the state.
