Yeah, but that’s Cthulhu in the middle there…
The alphabet, arranged symmetrically designed by Scott Kim.
This is unimaginably pleasing.

Christopher Nolan's Odysseus will be good.

Christopher Nolan's Muppet Odysseus would have been better.

I can't believe there's people finding out about THE ODYSSEY because of the new Nolan film and complaining about spoilers. Sir please it was written almost 3000 years ago what spoilers are you talking about.

Found some details to not trust Poilievre about our pension plan in Canada: #CPP #NeverTrustConservatives

In 2012, Pierre voted to increase the age of eligibility for Old Age Security (OAS) and the Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS) from 65 to 67

Pierre Poilievre will take a wrecking ball to your pension
Throughout his time in office, Pierre Poilievre has never shied away from an opportunity to weaken pensions and retirement security for his fellow Canadians. Any time Conservatives come to power, they...

Any car, even electric cars, aren’t the best. Public transit needs better funding
IMPORTANT: This ranks a bunch of ways we get around cities, using average carbon emissions by transport type in grams per pkm. It breaks emissions down by operation, manufacture etc.

Feet and bikes win. Lots of ways beat electric cars, and everything beats gas cars.

Never forget, a 13-year study found that protected bike-lanes led to a drastic decline in fatalities for all road users.

ALL ROAD USERS.

And painted bike-lanes? No safety improvement at all. For sharrows, it’s safer to NOT have them.

Separated Bike Lanes Means Safer Streets, Study Says — Streetsblog USA
Cities that build protected lanes for cyclists end up with safer roads for people on bikes and people in cars and on foot, a new study of 12 large metropolises revealed Wednesday.

Someone tagged me into this as, in Drach's absence, the person on BlueSky most likely to know (without guessing) how navies handled cat poo. I am VERY offended.

But they're also right. 😆 Indeed Drach/Dr Alex and I were comparing notes on this back in November.

So thread: How cats shat on ships /1
Bad news: I wrote to the Museum of Maritime Pets in Maine to ask how cat poops and pee were handled on ships before litter was invented. They didn't know! But they're very curious, too, and want me to keep them updated. We can all make educated guesses but I want to see what actual records say.

Playing Trivial Pursuit and I am *sickened* to learn that the board spaces with a picture of a wedge on them that you can earn a wedge on are called "category headquarters spaces". The non-wedge-shaped spaces that have no picture of a wedge and don't award wedges are called "wedge spaces".

And yet here we are.
People seem to enjoy this over on the other website so I thought I'd share it here: after learning about the weirdness of electric eel bodyplans I drew up this handy diagram

This really works; delete the gobbledegook after your search term (in my e.g. this is q=recipe+for+bread) and add &udm=14 and all the top tips, AI summaries, 'also searched for' and video (1st image) vanishes. You just get actual search results (2nd image).
