Because incarceration is a profit centre for certain corporate interests.
I want to be clear: this is what American prisons are like.
I spent years posting about the humanitarian crisis in U.S. prisons. The criminal legal system consigns Americans who are incarcerated to live like this FOR YEARS. DECADES.

This makes me so angry. I’ve had to get in touch with CRA several times in the last 18 months and getting a hold of a person is very difficult. Getting hold of the RIGHT person even harder. And Carney is going to make that worse?
I haven't been able to reach a human being at CRA since... 2019? Maybe longer than that.
And I'm self-employed, so CRA is up in my shit more than it is for most people.
To think it's just gonna get worse? FML.
