Elon Musk has been a walking SEC violation for a decade and no one cared. The entire Trump era could have been avoided if the US took white collar crime anywhere near as seriously as it does low level drug crime.

On a 2023 earnings call, Elon Musk boasted that Tesla had bagged “over 1 million” Cybertruck reservations and that “demand is off the charts.”

So why has the company still sold less than 50,000 trucks since customer deliveries began 14 months ago?
‘Over 1 Million’ People Wanted a Cybertruck. Where Are They?
“Demand is off the charts!” Elon Musk crowed at the end of 2023, citing more than a million reservations for Tesla's polarizing polygonic pickup—so why has it still sold less than 50,000?

“we’re revoking your visa because of your viewpoint” would have been obviously unconstitutional at any point up to Jan. 20 but who the hell knows now
Hundreds of international students have just received an email telling them their visas have been revoked.

The ‘justification’ is campus activism or social media posts.

The weakest, most pathetic thing.

Imagine becoming one of the only 535 people out of over 260,000,000 US adults with the Constitutional authority to craft the federal budget—which many aspire to their whole lives—then begging an unelected official to "let" you have a say in the federal budget.

Adding this to my “Reasons Dick Durbin is Bad” list
It’s time to repeal Section 230. We must be able to take social media companies to court for addicting kids and enabling drug trafficking on their platforms.
Sen. DURBIN: Fentanyl often gets to our kids and young people through the internet.

Section 230 absolves social media companies from any responsibility. “That has got to end.”

the purpose of banning section 230 is to ban all political, sexual, or critical speech from the internet

this is to silence grassroots movements that don’t have the explicit sanction of the wealthy and powerful

you are an abject moron or a liar if you believe it has any other purpose

Republicans have outright said they will use the repeal of section 230 to prevent speech they don't like.

So glad we have Democrats that want to help them do that.

It is now the position of the US government that states are free to deny abortions to women and pregnant people facing medical emergencies unless they are on death's door. In danger of sepsis? Losing your uterus? Sorry, no abortion.
BREAKING: According to the Associated Press, the DOJ is getting ready to drop the EMTALA lawsuit in Idaho.

If granted, that will leave the separate lawsuit filed by St. Luke’s. St. Luke’s filed that lawsuit in anticipation of this happening. A hearing is scheduled in that case tomorrow afternoon.

Mark Zuckerberg Insists Anyone With Same Skewed Values And Unrelenting Thirst For Power Could Have Made Same Mistakes
MENLO PARK, CA—In an effort to dismiss widespread criticism, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg reportedly insisted Thursday that anyone with the same skewed values and tenacious thirst for power could have made the same mistakes he did. “I know I screwed up, and I understand why you’re all upset, but if you were a morally corrupt megalomaniac hell-bent on manipulating society to your twisted whims, you would have done the exact same thing,” said Zuckerberg, suggesting that people should put themselves in the shoes of a self-absorbed asshole with a warped perception of humanity who justified the exploitation of personal connections as a means of amassing unfettered influence and profits to truly comprehend why he made every completely fucked-up decision. “Listen, any cruel and sadistic piece of shit in my position would willingly cheapen the human experience into a series of superficial interactions to further their own tainted legacy.” At press time, Zuckerberg expressed hope that people would take the time to consider his distorted, malicious perspective.
