Increasingly I think the point of a wealth tax is not to raise money but to create space for raising income tax. The lethal thing in politics is when the compliant middle class feels like they have been taken for mugs; if you want to get money out of them, someone else needs to pay more too.

Implement The Purge but for people who dump in the binsheds of housing association property, where the council refuses to take responsibility because it's technically private but also the HA refuses to find+fine actual tippers + just whacks up tenants' service charges instead, and now we're talking

There needs to be broader recognition that the top-down, gatekeeped information system most of us grew up with is shifting towards peer-to-peer information systems, where we're no longer just consumers of information but creators and vectors of information. This especially affects Gen Alpha.
There is also a general culture within the party (in part due to your point) that discounts or strongly penalizes attention/digital performance/messaging, so there is a strong disincentive and risk for members to perform well in this capacity if they want to ascend.
