I worked in an outdoor shop selling hiking and climbing gear. People assumed I knew their plans, apropos nothing.

"Is this jacket warm enough?" "Can I carry everything in this pack?" "Should I buy this rope?" For what, my dude? Picnics? Climbing K2?

Tbh I loved that job. Our customers had dreams.
