Black lives still matter. White supremacy is mortal sin. Trans people exist. Everyone has the right to a nationality. She / they pronouns. Bisexual.

We’ve seen video of a child being gunned down on a playground in the name of fighting crime and many people decided that was a necessary part of society.

So Olivia Nuzzi is clearly a piece of shit who can never work in journalism again after this.

And, also, Ryan Lizza is clearly a piece of shit who should never work in journalism again after this either.

We're all agree on that, right?

The alpha wolf concept was debunked by the very guy who coined it because he realized that wolves in the wild are extremely communal and defer to parents for guidance. The “alpha” behavior was observed in captivity and was a terrified and violent male lashing out to feel some sort of control.
idiot guy: i'm like the wolf i'm stalking my prey alone through the forest and being raw as fuck even if i'm in a group i'm the alpha
actual wolf: i love my friends so much!!! i love to romp and kiss my bros and work together as a family <3 awooo etc etc have you seen the puppies oh my god come see

The problem with ICE is not that it's targeting people who aren't criminals. The problem with ICE is that it's an unaccountable secret deportation police. It cannot be reformed under a better president. It can be made less terrible, but the instrument of repression remains for the next tyrant.

the thing most frustrating to me abt liberal (& even some leftist) politics are how small the asks are/how they are the same asks people had in the 1860s!

- 40 hour work week
- less racial discrimination
- less sexism
- prison reform

reformist arguments got 165 years to produce dividends. and yet.

With Black Friday approaching, there will inevitably be well-intentioned talk that these deals are only possible because workers are denied a livable wage.

Don't buy into this. It's not low prices vs. fair pay. It's the demand for ever-higher profits and shareholder returns that forces deprivation.

The people spreading misinformation know exactly what they are doing. They don't care and they made sure that you won't care either. At least not until it's too late. White supremacy is a death cult and it isn't the only one. Hating your neighbors will kill them and you too.

We got to brutal mass deportations in the same way we got cops doing the lynchings & calling it an accident or a mistake or a tragic error. The reform school and Indian boarding school systems killed kids and wrecked communities and even now we're still pretending institutionalized abuse is a fluke

Major sources of hate speech are located outside the US. Well yeah, we have this conversation every few months. And every few months people reject the bright shiny evidence that easiest way to ruin America is to feed the hate and bigotry that already exists here.

I've always loved the historical fun fact that Donald P. Bellisario knew Lee Harvey Oswald in the Marines, and has always hated JFK assassination conspiracies because he knew Oswald was an extremist crank who could have easily made the shot, and devoted an entire episode of Quantum Leap to it.
JFK was killed by Lee Harvey Oswald, acting alone.
My first political memory - exactly 62 years ago right now, a 4-year-old boy trying to understand his mom's tears - is still the biggest event in my lifetime. We still (IMO) don't *really* know who killed JFK, but we know the public's trust was shattered. It's a straight line to today's mess

Saying that swastikas and Confederate flags aren't hate symbols is blatantly wrong, but I'm losing my shit over nooses being called "politically divisive". It's literally a terrorist group's preferred murder weapon and a blatant threat of murder. What the actual fuck?

Buckle up because I'm going to say more shit that you don't like.

The whole "has MeToo gone too far?" and the hysteria/moral panic over the potential for false rape allegations all boils down to terror of women being able to speak freely.

It is absolute terror at the specter of equality.
You don’t want to fear false rape allegations?

Cool. Start making a world in which rape allegations are unlikely to be true.

But you won’t, because most men, deep down, see themselves as having more in common with men who maybe just… didn’t listen to a no than with the woman who said it.

Look, men aren’t worried about being falsely accused of rape. False rape allegations occur at roughly the same frequency as false allegations of murder/etc., and they seem real not worried about those, even though they also wreck your reputation.

They’re worried about what they *have* done.

Reconciliation without reparation is one of supremacy's greatest sabotages of the act of repair. Whenever abuse is exposed, it offers free exoneration to the abuser at the expense of the abused, and calls it redemption. It's the traditional and popular response to abuse in our supremacist society.
Leaders of a Minnesota church community didn’t report a parishioner they knew had sexually abused girls for year.

They told his victims that once sins were “washed away in the blood of reconciliation,” they could never speak of them again.

Truly chilling, from @jlussenhop.bsky.social & Andy Mannix
