I’ve been lost in American Catholicism for most my adult life despite being raised in the most radical of Dorothy Day centered American parishes. I don’t do cult of personality and also Leo is different

It’s Xmas Eve and yet I’m still gonna be a little spicy. The fact that the first American pope is from Chicago matters because unmooring power and perspective from the coasts especially east coast is an imperative for building something new and better

The nyt’s first story on the Cass report didn’t come out until the next day, when it portrayed the document, falsely, as part of a movement in Europe to restrict care. No such movement existed. France, Germany, Switzerland and Austria were taking positions in opposition to Cass and in line w doctors
