this meme is both technically true and really bothers me, and I think overall misleading. because yes, there are lots of good people in the south. and yes their political power is diluted by all the things listed in the meme. BUT in many if not all of the south, they are still -the minority- 1/

Honestly, this would be a worrying trend for any ballot initiative. Yes at below 50% is frequently predictive of a final No result.
Californians initially back Governor Newsom’s proposed redistricting ballot measure 48% to 32%, but many voters are undecided.
