My only (non-deliberately inflammatory) thoughts on the Star Wars theatrical cut re-release is that it's more evidence that Disney doesn't know what to do except try to please the most vocal fans. I don't think that retconning the Sequel Trilogy is on the table yet but I wouldn't rule it out.

Propaganda. We thought that it was gauche and problematic to have government propaganda about public accomplishments and so people forgot about them. People consistently like the military more than ‘the government’ and you know what a large part of that is? They have an advertising budget.
I think about this, also in terms of vaccines, and really struggle with how you have a free society that doesn’t fall into this trap in one way or another. solved problems become invisible and the solutions become the source of conspiracy theories.
This seems logical but Dems solved* the whole problem of old-age health care costs in the mid-1960s and then they lost five of the next six presidential elections because by 1968 it was a solved problem and no one cared about it.

The way to understand the second Trump administration is as a content generation machine. They aren’t implementing fascism, they’re creating fascism-flavored content. They aren’t implementing real policy, they’re signing executive orders to post about them. Anything that gets attention is the goal.
I don't really know what the administration hopes to gain by picking fights with the most well-liked pop artists in the United States. You're just generating backlash for no discernible reason outside of owning the libs.

The Right's current position seems to be that all political violence is committed by the Left, yet they think liberals won't put a fight. Also, what's to stop the Left from bringing in a bunch of Somalis or whatever Great Replacement boogeyman the Right is scared of to do their fighting for them?
