This is not 'conventional wisdom' - this is a concerted PR campaign, and it unites Klein and Cuomo and all the other Dems and Neolibs who cherish their elite privileges above all else but aren't quite ready to go full Trumper MAGA Nazi.
There's also a weird conventional wisdom forming that the Democratic agenda is toxically unpopular and that Republicans are delivering what voters want.

What if we picked some backwater national historic property like the Calvin Coolidge birthplace or something, told Trump 'this is the new White House, redecorate it', and then just let him have at it? He'd be happy, and while he's busy we can replace him with a non-fascist.
