People can grow, people can change. Wounds can heal, heartaches can quell. We can evolve emotionally, and it behooves us to recognize the work others put in to become better and to recognize the efforts they make

Treat others as you wish to be treated. Kindness and empathy can never go wrong

I'm seeing discussion today about library staff doing more with less.

This has been happening long enough that many library workers (including myself) feel like we're slacking in any moment we're not drowning.

It's not right and we have to be intentional about addressing that.

I love loving the Mariners but not having an emotional attachment to them (ignore that I lose my voice every game because of cheering so hard)

When you demonize and mistreat the immigrant, the poor, the starving, and the marginalized, I'm not interested in hearing about your religious beliefs.

You've already shown me what they are by how you're demonizing and mistreating the immigrant, the poor, the starving, and the marginalized.

Designer: That's great! Let's talk about accessibility

It doesn’t “piss me off,” but straight advocacy being passed off and accepted as journalism just because the viewer agrees with the viewpoint is a huge part of why we are here now. That makes me sad.

When I say, “I love that for you!” That isn’t me being shady at ALL. That’s me saying I see who you are, and I think that whatever is happening is in alignment with YOU. So I love that it’s happening in general, but *especially* for *YOU*

I wonder how many people have misinterpreted that. 😵‍💫

I don’t think people truly appreciate how much trauma and poverty change your brain. If you’ve spent your entire life in survival mode, you will not react to small inconveniences the way someone else does who has resources and a support system.

You will never be able to make "data driven" decisions until you realize just how much your decisions are driven by emotions: fear of missing out, defensiveness of your favorite idea, apprehension over something unusual.

That's because there's no such thing as "the data" - only interpretations.
