I've taught my leash terrified dog "tap the leash," which is where I have shredded chicken in my hand in front of him but he needs to look to the side and nose boop the leash I'm holding up to get the chicken.

He's even starting to look for the leash to tap when I have a treat and haven't said it.

A kid in 6th grade or so told me, "I don't want to be rude, but you remind me of Mike from FNAF."

I think it was a compliment.

Funny that the original DRACULA was the zany fanfic of: what if Dracula needed a lawyer?

"If I can stop one heart from breaking,
I shall not live in vain;
If I can ease one life the aching,
Or cool one pain,
Or help one fainting robin
Unto his nest again,
I shall not live in vain."

I like the vibe but I thought offering the barn because they were full up was supposed to be a helpful thing.
Pope Leo said in a Christmas Eve sermon that the story of Jesus being born in a stable because there was no room at an inn should remind Christians that refusing to help the poor and strangers today is tantamount to rejecting God himself. For @reuters.com

My plan to make friends with a particular street dog is going well. Achieved chin scratches today!

After continued leash conditioning work with my new dog, he let me attach it to his collar without peeing, screaming, or backpedaling. So he got to go on a family walk before dawn with his leash loose on the ground. Hoping to start holding the leash in a couple of days. 🐕

Because of life we’re actually recording this today and I just want to say again how beautiful this movie is. The colors! The framing! The quiet!
Next week Jenn and I are recording our ep on THE GREEN KNIGHT for #TarValonOrBust, continuing our Arthurian movie bent until next month when we'll pick up THE HOLLOW HILLS and continue our Mary Stewart journey. If you want to join, the movie is streaming for free on Tubi right now!
The Green Knight (2021)

The human bed has been existing dog's "you may not enter, new dog *snarl* *bark* zone," but she's starting to ease off on that. Sometimes.

Today I'm making a gluten free pound cake for my spouse's workplace. No wonder there are gluten free production bakeries. This is a lot of extra work for safety!

I drive by one most days called The Bakehouse Off The Wheaten Path.

Eight days after adoption, I've got my dog who is terrified of leashes and collars wearing a collar without complaints and without any struggle getting it on him.

Leash is next and then he can go on walks.

I have raised the gate with steel pipes and netting. Still need to get the walls raised to feel secure, but new dog is less likely to jump the fence straight at something he can see.

I keep seeing movie and TV show criticisms like "it could have been an hour shorter" and "nothing happened this episode."

I've never had such thoughts in my life and am happy to stay that way.

New dog has a deep leash and collar aversion, so I can't walk him yet. He jumped the fence and joined me and other dog after we were out of sight. Carried him home.

Desperately trying to get a block wall raise scheduled ASAP.

New dog is doing well. He's very cuddly and gentle even when my other dog isn't gentle with him. He does scream if anyone tries to collar him so I'll be working with him on that. He's also much more into destroying things. Other dog is having mixed feelings about him.

The thing I have found about my current job is that there is no piece of learning I do not use. It's not just about facts (although those, too).

Learning to do proofs taught me patience with material and the skill of banging my head against a brick wall.
