FWIW the point of revolution is to make the world better, and we can’t make the world better if we don’t ask each other to be better. I think it’s important to share these critiques because of that, as well as because of the impact the things mentioned have on people.
Today I'm going to talk about the problem of Ciwanên Şoreşgerî (CŞ), because it's central to all of this, but particularly to my assertion that this is a localised problem that doesn't condemn the entire revolution.
If you're going to Rojava/DAANES, avoid the Internationalist Youth Commune. They are a deliberately hostile space to women & queers, & have encouraged sexual violence against visitors.
Rojava in general isn't like this, just the one place.

i can’t quite explain it but “standing up as opposition doesn’t work” doesn’t seem like good optics for an opposition party to have

Printing out zines and talking with folks, connecting them to local projects, and building real connections is probably one of the best ways to push back against anyone that's been subjected to years of memes from Occupy Democrats.
I've fired up the ol' propaganda machine (printer) and printed out a bunch of zines by @cbmilstein.bsky.social, @guante.info, and @igd.bsky.social to hand out at a No Kings rally tomorrow! 🌈✨️
