This is what revisionist history looks like, in real time. And this also is why it might appear that archaeologists and historians have to dig deep to discover the existence of powerful women and marginalized groups -- because their legacies are so often erased.

And also WWII WASPS, Women Airforce Service Pilots who supported the war effort during World War II. History that isn't totally centered on white men is the dreaded DEI.
The Air Force is stripping Tuskegee Airmen lessons from basic training curriculum because of our White supremacist government.
Put that in a headline.

I graduated high school in 2003 and two students from my school were expelled for being pregnant.(the men weren't, tho!)

They also allowed anti-choicers to post graphic anti-abortion signs along the school grounds.

And this was a publicly funded high school here in Ontario.

Defund them now.
Fun fact. Catholic high schools used to expel(not suspend)girls who were pregnant bc they were bad for the school’s image.

The fathers stayed&their reputations were protected. Feels like we’re on a slippery slope back to that for girls in catholic schools.

The public high school had a daycare.

A great scoop by the Star's mighty city hall bureau.
There's a report, Ford is refusing to release it.

Yay! Close to 1/2 of Torontonians rent (probably higher since last census). Being a tenant in Ford's Ontario is a nightmare; no one is safe for eviction. This is one way the City can help.

A pox on Holyday & Pasternak.
Switching gears again, Councillor Bravo is back and ready to vote on the renoviction bylaw.

Councillor Perks' motion to waive renovation license application fee for rooming houses CARRIES 24-2.

This 💯

Many in the GOP have said that Canada needs to be ‘liberated’ because our ‘democracy’ is in danger.

Translation: we have abundant water and natural resources that they want unfettered access to all of this.

Eye open.

#Canada
The forces that worked together to get 47 elected will be focusing on us next. We have fresh water and abundant mineral resources. The "firehose of lies" in the lead up to our next election is going to be on a scale we've never seen before. I sincerely hope the other parties are prepared for it.

Why city planning needs diverse perspectives.

Touring possible commuter cycling routes.

What I saw - Smooth pavement. Separate from traffic. Shade. Not too busy. Perfect.

What my female partner saw - Blind corners. No lighting. No escape routes. Too few users. Wouldn’t use this route.

“The school didn’t call an ambulance.”

Some sentences enter the mind and will never leave. I read that in an article today and it will be with me for the rest of my days.
The story of Nex Benedict, the non-binary Native teen in Oklahoma who got murdered at school, is just so heartbreaking. The way the school reacted (they were going to suspend the teen): shocking. If your reactionary ideology turns you into an inhumane monster, re-evaluate the ideology.

I saw a Happy Birthday greeting to Charles Dickens in today’s Toronto Star, in the Births/Deaths section. I was on board until the last sentence, stating that he is the second-greatest writer in English Literature, after Shakespeare. In a birthday greeting. Someone’s getting haunted.

La douceur printanière avance la floraison. En 1200ans, il n'y a eu que 8 floraisons en mars (une fois chaque 150ans). Depuis 2020, c'est tous les ans. Le changement climatique est indéniable.

I’m wild about this book!
I’ve listened to @neilhimself.neilgaiman.com’S Art Matters through my library’s hoopla account about 8 times in a row this week. So far.

I want to give it to everyone!

I’ve added it to the Creativity Reading List on my site and it gets top marks for inspiration.
