starting to think it was maybe a bad idea to have a society that rewards evil people with lots of money and lets people with lots of money do a bunch of evil things. like maybe there's a hidden downside to that, somehow

Isn't it odd that the United States has enough money to suddenly run Venezuela, but not enough to run our own country?

There is always cash in the piggy bank for bombs to kill people, but never for healthcare to keep them alive.

Donald Trump is now reposting videos on Truth Social suggesting that Minnesota Governor Tim Walz had Melissa Hortman assassinated.

This is objectively evil, and calling it out should not be political.

It’s not because it hasn’t been done before.

It’s not about who’s involved, good or bad.

It’s not because no one else has done it, within the same country, or other countries.

It’s not even because I’m surprised.

I think Justin Trudeau would have said something by now

Trump says we need to go after drug cartels.

Meanwhile, he disbanded a DOJ task force that took them on.

And he pardoned a former Honduran president convicted of drug trafficking.

Trump doesn't care about drugs — he wants to be able to declare war on anyone he labels an enemy.

It's a power grab.

Exactly this. I built a software development and consulting business from nothing; I’m absolutely not anti capitalist. But American tech billionaires are now converting their obscene wealth into political power to subvert democracy. That’s not free market capitalism, it’s oligarchy.
This what we call in the biz: A dramatic heel turn. Welcome back to reality, Paul.
