Hi new friends!

Reminder on who/what I stand for:

- it's us vs the rich, not left vs right

A open letter to Niagara politicians and the Ontario government: the Niagara Region deserves better GO Train service.

Only running 3 trips/day makes travel worse for everyone - including drivers on the QEW - and leaves billions in economic activity on the table. #ONpoli #cdnpoli #transit

It will forever confuse me why Doug Ford has a personal vendetta against the bike lanes on University Ave but has no problem with the cars that essentially park in the middle of the street

Mayor of Kitchener, Mike Morrice? 👀

Is this Ontario Place, or a garbage dump?

The only silver lining is that the Ford government has never built anything quickly, so we might be able to rectify it in 2029. #onpoli #TOpoli

Poilievre's full platform is finally out (despite almost all of the voting days being over already) and its... bad!

Only 30 pages and ⅓ of it is pictures of him. Does not scream "ready to lead" despite calling for an election over the last two years.

I'm sure voters in Texas are going to love when they get laid off because the oil and gas company they work for is no longer profitable.

The Elections Canada filing deadline is tomorrow at 2pm, and the Liberals are the only party with a full slate of candidates. Greens have 57 candidates over the NDP

(numbers will change once the official list comes out - some will file last minute, some won't make it) #cdnpoli

He keeps saying “groceries” is an “old time-y” word.

All this shows is he’s never gone grocery shopping but did watch “Little House on the Prairie”
Trump: "An old fashioned term that we use -- groceries. I used it on the campaign. It's such an old fashioned term, but a beautiful term. Groceries. It says a bag with different things in it."

A councillor accidentally dropping a dick joke in a City Council meeting 😂

It makes me LOL when stories come out like this

St Catharines Councillor complains about the Strong Mayor powers being used for housing, calling it "undemocratic"... then council approved the development 8-4 anyway.

1,902 units (10% affordable) with 1,682 parking spaces

Hot take: the federal government should buy out failed developments if they're running out of money during construction.

40 storey tower failed to sell all the condos? Feds pay $80M for it and fill it with below-market rentals instead. #TOpoli #housing

Did some back of the napkin math and realized that if the government wanted to solve the housing crisis in Ontario, it would cost the same price as Doug Ford's election bribe, and more or less pay for itself over time.

Looks like the renovations around the St Catharines GO Station are going well! Hoping we'll also see significant housing densification around here too.

"We're not Toronto or Mississauga, we need our own identity... not just 'housing housing housing'" - a real quote from a City Councillor in St Catharines talking about a high-rise downtown.

What an embarrassment. #onpoli #onmuni #housing

We go through this cycle every few months in Niagara:

1) a development is proposed, with higher density and average parking count
2) one half of council say it's too big
3) the other half complains about traffic

It's downtown in a city. Just put less parking if you don't want traffic
March 19, 2025 at 3:48 PM
It's crazy to me how much of Canada's largest city is still made up of single-family homes and other low-rise buildings.

This picture should really have twice as many high-rises in it #TOpoli
