This should be the response from all European politicians - Spain’s @monicagarciag.bsky.social is setting out the principles that should guide us, plain and simple.
Un ataque militar unilateral para vulnerar la soberanía de un país es injustificable, sea en Palestina, Ucrania o Venezuela. Hay que volver urgentemente al derecho internacional y a un mundo basado en reglas, diálogo y cooperación.

Curious to see if a Netanyahu plot line to "relocate" Palestinians to breakaway Somlailand, which Israel has just recognized? The historical rhymes involved in such a scheme are incredible.

AI is doing to words - literature, journalism, entertainment - what polyester did our clothing

There used to be natural fabrics and clothes meant something; now we are drowning in shitty, toxically & exploitatively produced crap, and yes most is cheap but even high end stuff is also now mostly sh!t
Hard no to this: French publisher Harlequin has told translators that their work will now be done by AI. They can ‘revise’ AI translations at much lower rate. It’s a subsidiary of Harper Collins so treat this as a test for rollout elsewhere
"Bradage de la traduction, plan social invisible : Harlequin passe à l’IA"

Faites tourner, parce qu'il va falloir se battre encore plus. :/

In discussions about traffic congestion, you often hear people say "imagine Dublin without the M50".

What they forget is: the M50 generated the extra traffic that is now clogging Dublin's bypass.

What we have to do now is to imagine and create a future built on mass public transport.

it’s cool that fascism has pushed us so far that the Catholic Church is now Banksy
Leaders of a Catholic church in Massachusetts kept a Nativity display with an anti-ICE message in place on Monday, defying an order from the Catholic Archdiocese of Boston to remove it. The display shows Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus missing, replaced by a sign reading “ICE WAS HERE.” trib.al/adPW46y

The 2nd half of the sentence will be him released on license, so he will really serve 18 months. Being white and a Union Jack waver means it's not classed as terrorism. Imagine the sentence and the coverage this would get if he was a muslim person who put live pipe bombs on people's cars in England.
A founding member of the East Belfast GAA Club targeted with pipe bombs said it "left scars on people's lives."

It comes as a 59-year old man convicted by a jury of placing pipe bombs at playing fields in east Belfast was handed a three-year sentence.

People keep wondering why they're going after Venezuela. It's because they want to do regime change and control its oil, then use a big tract of land there to keep a tax free "network state" that looks like Dubai but operates like Rhodesia. They are saying this out loud! Believe them!

An interesting poll on public attitudes to water and the derogation:

'Irish people want clean, healthy waters, it’s time the Government actually started protecting that precious resource, instead of giving it lip service while prioritising the demands of the agri-business industry'
A new Ireland Thinks poll, commissioned by An Taisce, reveals Irish public appear at odds with Government’s application for a derogation from EU Nitrates Directive.

It comes days before a crucial EU vote on the derogation expected on December 9th.
