actually we can and should ban cars first

1. we don’t have time for incremental progress
2. reactionaries will take advantage of incremental progress to sabotage it all
We can't just ban personal vehicles in rural carbrained cities though, we need congestion pricing for cities and we need to phase in walkable policies like protected bike lanes, mass transit, pedestrianized areas, and multi use zoning that creates denser cities and spaces that encourage community.

I live in a neighborhood that a parkway passes through so this speaks to me very strongly. People passing through stop to grab something at a local business and often drive or park unsafely because they don't care about the locals living their lives outside of a car.
carbrain people want all our infrastructure focused on cars so they can pass through an area faster, meanwhile the people that live in that area walk and ride bicycles. it makes no sense to cater to passersby

the majority of political outrage is caused by ignorance of civic procedures
judges can’t even consider evidence until a trial is held. they are arbiters between two parties. defendant vs law. if two parties reach an agreement, the judge can’t interfere.

when a rapist gets a nice plea bargain, it’s a failure of police and prosecutor. Not the fucking judge!

US debt is $36T.

Wealth of the top 1% is $52T.

The oligarchs steal our future through tax cuts and saddle us with the bill.

it’s important to remember that roads predate automobiles by millennia. cars should not own them.

idk but i think that there should be a mechanism like “child support” for victims of abuse, in which the perpetrators have to pay for the therapy of their victims

quite a few people seem to think this post advocates for replacing all car infrastructure with bike infrastructure, which is a symptom of carbrain

maybe it’s the fumes

An important thing is that infrastructure that allows cars but doesn't center them is still usable by cars, but infrastructure that fully centers cars is generally unusable by non-cars.
