Wild scenes. Absolutely wild. My brain can't comprehend this kind of behavior
ICE detain father shopping on Christmas Eve—then steal his family's groceries.

Then 3 agents divvy up his paid for food—taking what they want for themselves.

"Can I just get the wife's number to call and let her know?" woman asks.

"No, guess he should've complied," agent says.

The Department of Health and Human Services gutted key groups that had been successful in helping Americans quit smoking.

This is a "gift to Big Tobacco" a former CDC director said.
HHS gutted programs to help people quit smoking. The impact could be deadly.
Cuts to the CDC and the FDA, experts say, could reverse hugely successful campaigns to reduce cigarette smoking rates and curb teen vaping.

I know a lot of people are making posts about the Trump guy’s politics like wow isn’t it complicated but if you take a step back and say “someone who thinks Vivek Ramaswamy and Tulsi Gabbard would be great Presidents is an unhinged dangerous lunatic” it doesn’t actually seem that complicated

Finding common ground solutions is not the point. Cruelty is the point. Control is the point. Being an a-hole is the point.
Lunch debt shouldn't exist, first of all. But second of all, *turning down funds* and *incurring legal fees to take the families to court* really makes clear that the real concern is not actually about the food being paid for. It's just punishing poor families

Love when the video is Trump saying something like, "And then I ate a whole pie full of handkerchiefs and melancholy. So that's why Jesus helped me sink that putt, and Malaysians aren't real."

But the chyron reads: "Trump to Fed: It's time to lower interest rates."

Many years ago when I was first freelancing I got an offer for $200 for 2 min worth of video footage from Ruptly. I almost took it, but the whole exchange felt really shady. But that was $200 more than American media outlets were offering, because all they offered was "credit/exposure."
It just sucks that anyone who wants to complain about dumbass culture war shit gets paid a million dollars by Russia and anyone who wants to investigate corruption in a Sheriff’s Department has to be like “hey can you PLEASE send me five dollars for my newsletter I’m begging you”

It's in our nature to bitch about the economy, good or bad. So it's important to acknowledge when it's good.
A story in four parts:
1) US GDP growth has outpaced all other G7 nations
2) it's even outpaced pre-COVID projections
3) inflation-adjusted wages are up, and most for low-wage folks
4) wages at the bottom rose so much, income inequality is down, undoing 1/3 of its growth since Reagan
