Oh hey it's Trans Day of Visibility

I'm pretty damn visibly trans and will continue to be so. Things are terrifying right now and we need so much more than just Visibility, but it's also more important now than ever to show we aren't going anywhere. I'm proud of who I am and what I write.

If The Proud Boys are defending you, you're almost certainly in the wrong.

Guess who showed up to defend Tesla? The Proud Boys, armed militias, and at one event in Idaho, and a guy dressed as Hitler.

More on the "Tesla Takedown" protests here:
The Proud Boys and Militias Come to Tesla’s Defense
After weeks of “Tesla Takedown” protests, the Proud Boys and other far-right extremist groups are showing up to back Elon Musk's beleaguered car company.

This is why I focus on teaching the basics when I do my hardware hacking villages: most folks don't know and are eager to learn.

I didn't think I'd have anything of value to teach but I promise you that you can teach stuff you think everyone knows and there's an audience for it:
The most important thing I can tell everyone that I've learned from being a YouTuber who explains how stuff works is that each and every time I thought "this is common knowledge and doesn't need to be explained" I was wrong.

One thing keeping my other foot firmly in Mastodon are the admin(s) and history of a code of conduct with the group and instance I’m in, defcon.social. Finding ways to manage online abuse before it grows unmanageably though and when not seen is easily forgotten, but is something I take value in.
