I think collectively, we at least partially wanted the child at the Super Bowl to be Liam because the little boy on stage looked happy and healthy and our hearts want so badly to think these children can somehow magically recover from the evils our government is doing.
Super Bowl viewers Sunday speculated that 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos appeared in the halftime show. In fact, he has been in hiding with his family.

“He can’t sleep well at night. He wakes up three or four times a night screaming, ‘Daddy, Daddy,’” Liam's father Adrian Conejo Arias, said.
‘He’s not the same’: Father of Liam Conejo Ramos says 5-year-old continues to suffer
Some people thought they say the 5-year-old during the Super Bowl halftime show. But Liam is still in hiding with his family, after he and his father were detained and then released from a Texas deten...

Space Karen has about the same chance of putting a "self growing city" on the moon by 2030 as we do of seeing fully autonomous Tesla cybertaxis in major US cities by the end of the year.
Elon Musk has been allowed to pollute the night skies with his shit satellites and must not be allowed to further pollute space by expanding capitalism to the moon.

It's hard to read more than a few pages without tripping over some nefarious behavior. Not sure how anyone is cool with this at all.
Currently, the outrage to the visible contents of the Epstein files is so mild that I have to think the majority of people just aren't even casually checking them. I can't think of a phrase to describe what I've read even as a forensic analyst. "Cartoonishly evil" is too gentle. Horrific. Inhuman.

As I write this I’m realizing that it’s only a matter of time before ICE tactics bleed into criminals’ tactics.

Roll up, masked, with some “ICE badge,” in a Tahoe with no plates.

Everyone will simply assume “oh, it’s gestapo, got it.”

Horrible things happening to societal structure in America.
fuck it, we write the article

I think most gun-toting Trumpists tend to be mighty surprised when they show up to left-leaning precincts and discover those voters packing too

Total wash IMO

How much of a factor do you think the ballot being secret while the exit poll is potentially within earshot of your creepy Trumpy neighbor with all the guns who showed up to “observe” could be, or does that just wash out overall?

"I never saw the leopards coming."
Junior Pena, a Brazilian social media influencer known for openly supporting ICE had previously reassured his followers that only “crooks” were targeted by immigration crackdowns.

Okay, but work with me: if "the illegals are stealing all the jobs" then this makes zero sense. Like none.
Hassett: "There's a pretty big decline in the labor force because of illegals leaving the country, so the break even job number is quite a bit lower than it was under Joe Biden. So you should expect slightly smaller job numbers."

I'm all for helping lost doggos.

But if you can't see how this technology is already being abused by an authoritarian government, then you're probably too stupid to care for a dog in the first place.
Your Ring camera can scam passing dogs and compare them to databases of missing dogs and that’s heartwarming and there are absolutely no sinister implications that’s why the guy in the button-down and Dockers is soothing

I really do think this is an excellent metaphor for the moment.
I'm convinced AI is our generation's radium - a discovery with genuinely useful applications in specific, controlled circumstances that we stupidly put in everything from kid's toys to toothpaste until we realised the harm far too late where future generations will ask if we were out of our minds.

“I’m mad I can’t understand Bad Bunny’s lyrics because they’re not in English”

my brother millions of metalheads around the world have been happily listening to incomprehensible Finnish shrieks and Japanese death grunts since we were teens, you’re just boring and racist

It's not quite that bad, but a huge percentage of these will have been bots and I'm guessing this includes views after the actual live show.

But FFS, searching for this had better not screw up my YouTube recommendation algorithm...

Counterpoint: I'd rather hear Kid Rock rap about drugs than hear Lee Greenwood poorly belt out the only song of his I think I've ever heard.

Counter-counterpoint: I don't want to hear either of them again if I can help it.
kind of funny there are prob 1,000 major US musicians and every time conservatives need to put up a music artist to counter a mainstream narrative, they put up kid rock. "ok here's kid rock again" for the next 30 years, an octogenarian man in jean shorts rapping something from the 1990s

So AI *isn't* taking our jobs?
New York state has required companies to disclose if “technological innovation or automation” was the cause of job loss for nearly a year. So far, none has.

I take comfort in how many Americans think the same. Squid Game and Money Heist were hugely popular in the U.S., and Bad Bunny was at the Super Bowl precisely because he's so popular.

Downside of all this pluralism, though, is that later this month I have to take my daughter to a TWICE concert. 😂
Watched the halftime show. I guess where I fundamentally depart from MAGA is that, when I see something like this, celebrating a culture that's not quite mine, with some references I don't get, something that's not For Me ... I *like* it. I like seeing inside other worlds. Why wouldn't you?

But I thought the AI people were convinced that people didn't actually like making music?!
The guy who is my bellwether for where the dumb money is going—he had a cloud engineer phase, crypto phase, nft phase, AI phase—has pivoted back to DJing, which is what he was first doing when I met him 20 years ago.

404 Media just had an ad during the #SuperBowl! We Googled "smallest TV markets in the United States" and bought an ad for $2,550 that only ran in Ottumwa, Iowa, population 25,000. That still counts

I'm hardly the first person to note this, but it's enormously instructive that our President and his followers saw the message "THE ONLY THING MORE POWERFUL THAN HATE IS LOVE" and understood it, correctly, as an attack on them
What a moment.

Nothing about these AI ads are remotely believable, even if you know NOTHING about AI. You just need to use deductive logic.

If GenSpark could truly "automate your work so you could take the day off" then why not two days? Three days? Why go back to work at all? It's just so obvious they're lying.
These shit ads are doing more to accelerate the collapse of AI than @edzitron.com could ever dream of.
