I moved to SF in April. Not for work, but because I love this city and I could. I often joke that maybe I fell in love with a version of SF that hasn't existed in 30 years. But then I read folks like @monteiro.bsky.social and I'm comforted to know that, nope, sincere, loving weirdos still live here.

Also many of the so called NO votes were not no votes. They supported the move to reopen and are glad to have those who supported cloture do so. Now they can make their little posts on social media and credulous voters will postback: 'thanks to my Senator for standing up.' Pure WWF.
It's just that they already voted to move this forward in the only vote that mattered. Today's vote only needs 50 so the Dems can now vote no and pretend that they didn't advance it when they already did.

I have come to believe this as well. The list is too strange. I don’t think a majority wanted to cave, but many more than the 8.
I think that these 8 Senators are falling on the sword for Schumer and other Senators who wanted the shutdown to end. This allows the majority of Senators to save face; and only retiring or not up for reelection Senators take the heat.

It’s a ruse.

Because voting "no" while letting others vote "yes" is strategic misdirection that lets Democrats fold every hand while claiming that only some of them fold some hands.

No more tricks. Clear the decks. Put in a new batch.

Sack of shit lied.
Democrats have been fighting for months to address America's healthcare crisis

For the millions who will lose coverage
For people with cancer who won't get the care they need
For working families who can't afford to pay $25K more a year for healthcare

We will keep fighting

It’s not.
King: So I believe that we are closer tonight to a vote on the ACA tax credits than we were this morning. This agreement tonight is a win for the American people.

Every single Democratic senator that votes to cave on this should be immediately ejected from the party, and the national party should immediately start running primary candidates in their districts.

This is not a deal — it's an empty promise.

Trump and his Republican Congress are making healthcare more expensive for the middle class and ending it for working families.

Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.
