prospects do not appear favorable, it’s true. but I like to think about how much of actually existing America was built in a frenzy of work between 1933-45
"Rebuild." Pssh. Look around you at the absolute wretched state of the US elite. Look at the sad, corporate-captured, power-worshiping media. Look at the distracted, deluded, increasingly spectacle-addicted US public. Look at the denuded, decrepit set of ideas allowed in our discourse. Look.

rebirth is ten times the size of remake and has a billion areas and minigames and six playable characters and it was cheaper than remake because iteration let them knock off -that much- dev cost. At this point not making quick iterative sequels of games should be considered malpractice.

investment firm put out a big presentation on Square Enix, it's mostly finance shit you wouldn't care about, but there's real info there too

forspoken costing more than FF16 is insane, and Rebirth costing less than Remake is insane in a totally different way

i’m far removed from caring about all this like i used to, but if you want to play for the d-i national title you should have to play a d-i national schedule and perform accordingly

hate it when i reply too quickly to a question seen while scrolling and then realized i missed an important clause about who’s supposed to answer (or of the question itself). feels like i just got caught trying to sneak an engagement treat out of the engagement treat jar

lmao they put the World Cup in America and now it's got commercial breaks.
News: Every 2026 World Cup match will feature two "hydration breaks," no matter the weather.

Each half will pause for exactly three minutes midway through.

It's a player welfare measure. It also has sporting & commercial implications.

More @theathleticfc.bsky.social:
2026 World Cup to feature three-minute hydration breaks in every half throughout tournament
Every game will pause for three minutes in the middle of each half, which will essentially split the match into quarters.

i dont want to live in a world that values gambling apps and ai i want to live in a world that celebrates mustard and puppets
This commercial for French's Mustard from 1987 is equal parts charming and also kinda unsettling, but what strikes me is the work that went into the absolutely delightful puppetry and practical effects for a *mustard commercial*!! Imagine that today??

I’m sorry I have just become aware there is a professional football team with a depth chart at quarterback comprised of former Duke quarterbacks. Like someone thought this was a winning formula.
Colts QB Daniel Jones hobbled off the field with a lower leg injury, a non-contact one. Jones is dealing with a fractured fibula, but this is the other leg. Riley Leonard is the backup.

Man this sucks. He’s been battling for weeks, and had a chance this season to really change the arc of his career. Feel awful for him and Colts fans.
This is really not good for Daniel Jones. Looks like he knows he's done-done. Grabbed his knee, then calf/Achilles
