I firmly believe we could break a lot of logjams if someone, somewhere in the vastness of America summoned up the courage to actually arrest and detain Elon Musk for his blatantly criminal actions.
I genuinely don't understand why so many people are scared of this loser. Have the State police waiting for him on the tarmac and dare him to do something.

“there’s a reaction against politeness and that’s troublesome” yeah man the state is trying to erase us idk what you want
The people who decry trans people being mean to anti-trans people online seem to not have noticed that being mean to transphobes online ≠ being unpersoned by the state and that being a little bit mean is probably quite a natural reaction to people who don't want you to exist

PSA for anyone who uses Wix for a website:

They quietly changed all of our subscription plans to a more expensive tier. It was an 8x price increase for me. And they charged that higher rate to my credit card three times yesterday.

Check your bank statements.

All this but the most demoralizing thing about being disabled is you literally can't afford your life....no amount of couponing, budgeting, rationing ia going to stabilize or secure your finances when your body is a money pit.
To be disabled is almost always to be traumatized. It’s living in a body that can’t keep you safe. It’s doctors dismissing you. It’s family and friends abandoning you. It’s living in a society that doesn’t see your value. It’s constantly having to prove your life is worth living.

1. We are seeing a massive amount of overcompliance with Trump EOs. Nonprofits across the board are erasing transgender people from their websites.

Mira Lazine reports on several that have made the decision to do so in her latest piece.

Several Nonprofits Overcomply With Trump EOs, Erase Trans People From Websites
Organizations such as the Boys and Girls Club of America, the Rape, Abuse, & Incest National Network, and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children are among dozens erasing trans people.

I feel like it’s not stressed enough the degree to which our current national political moment was shaped by catastrophically bad economic policy choices 40 years ago.

We are just about at the point where a court orders the government do something & the government refuses to do it, which is practically what this amounts to. Either the courts find an effective mechanism to force compliance, or Trump steamrolls right over them.
HAPPENING NOW: A federal judge who ordered the unfreezing of USAID contract spending is voicing frustration as a Trump administration lawyer repeatedly refuses to say whether they have actually taken any steps to implement his 12-day-old order.

Erik Prince and Steve Bannon floating a $26 billion plan to use private planes, mercenaries, and camps to deport 500k people per month to get to the 12 million deportations Trump promised by the 2026 midterms. The worst people alive, man. This is how they want to spend your social security money.
A group of prominent military contractors, including former Blackwater CEO Erik Prince, has pitched the Trump White House on a proposal to carry out mass deportations through a network of “processing camps” on military bases and a “small army” of private citizens empowered to make arrests.
Documents reveal how military contractors want to take over mass deportations
The group, led by Blackwater veteran Erik Prince, has close Trump ties.

I used to answer phones and log email and physical mail in a congressional office and can confirm

It's getting logged in the same system. What members and senior staff see is the total tally.

And the email inbox won't get "full" from non- constituents preventing you from getting your voice heard
Many say otherwise, but whenever I get a human being on the phone when I call my government reps, I ask if email has less impact than a phone call. They ALWAYS say it has the same impact and gets logged the same. Just a data point. Contact your reps, don't let perfect be the enemy of democracy.

Between this and RFK's bs, I could scream. How hard is it to understand that the best way to make people less anxious and depressed is to make sure their material needs are met??
People need money, stability, health, to be themselves.
Ppl will still need meds, but this helps many of them.
The NHS is to trial ‘comedy on prescription’ in a bid to tackle 9million people on antidepressants. The social prescribing scheme delivered by Craic Health is backed by Labour MP and GP, Dr Simon Opher who has warned against “a pandemic of over-prescription”.
