Does Israel really not see that Trump doesn't "support" them, so much as he thinks truly, genuinely believes he owns them like a waterfront resort? His outrage here is actually real, he truly cannot believe that a man he thinks he employs would cross him.

This kind of weird way of thinking about time reminds me of in Hitchhikers Guide where they talk about how everyone remembers a time before time travel, but once time travel was invented it was suddenly in every time, and no one knows when it was invented lol

This is a terrifying but sobering thought. Everything he does is about how it can be spun to position him next to people he thinks are the "greats." Other than money, he doesn't care about anything else in the world. This is why he keeps bringing up Washington and Lincoln.
The mission is for Trump to be seen as a wartime president. That's the goal, that's the dream at all cost to the American people. That's what the parade is for and that's what calling the troops is all about
