Tried to get COVID vaccine at my doctors office while getting flu vaccine. Discussed vaccine in July with dr. Which he put in my chart. I was denied because our discussion was before new requirements. Asked if I could just go to grocery store. Yes, they can bypass restrictions.

Great No Kings event in Clear Lake, TX, today. ~1,700 great Americans there in this small suburb.

Contrary to the nonsense coming from MAGA, it was peaceful, very pro-America, and nobody was paid!

There were some scary dinosaur and frog costumes and funny signs though.

Egypt has extremely strict gun control laws. Civilians are only permitted to own handguns -- no rifles or shotguns -- and only if they can prove they need the weapon for a specific purpose. Background checks for licensing are extensive and include vetting of family members and psych evaluations.
Trump on Egypt: "They have very little crime. Because they don't play games. That's why. Like we do in the United States with governors that have no idea what they're doing."

One first step people should do to respond to this is start using the “report a speed trap” function in Apple Maps to report where ICE is operating. Make Apple party to the attempt to protect people.

Everything about this story is horrific:

1. The student never mentions Jews
2. The university is going to expel a student for criticizing a country over genocide
3. A Republican congressman is taking credit and implying the student is a Muslim terrorist
4. The U.S. Justice Department is involved
The DOJ says it will investigate a US citizen for saying “fuck Isr**l” to a guy in an IDF shirt.

Absolutely the most anti-free speech admin of my lifetime. Probably since the Red Scare, if not earlier.

Correction on one of my observations: While Visa Waiver Program country visitors do not need a Visa, they still need an I94 (www.usa.gov/arrival-depa...). I don't want to believe that's going to happen, but I do believe it is possible.

If we hit every VWP visitor with a $250 fee we're so fucked.

The US already charges incredibly high fees to many people applying for a visa. Now it is about to get much, much worse.

It does not seem to apply for visa-waiver country visits, which is good. But based on the CBO numbers in the reporting it is more than 11 million annual visitors. 🤬

Apparently Texas sends mass “Blue Alerts” to phones every time a cop is in danger.

And a lot of people are so understandably sick of it that they’ve *turned emergency alerts off entirely*, meaning that they aren’t getting actually-useful notifications.

By extension, I guess all the people who died just didn't pray enough. Similar to all that nonsense a year ago about Trump getting "divine intervention" from the bullet — the natural extension is to then assume that the guy who died must have deserved it.
