ok so the doctors visits was already announced and had a follow up 'shitty loans to private GPs' announcement, but where are the big policy headliners for good jobs or affordable homes?

or, like these seats, are all three actually pretty absent?

I really wish the left wing parties talking about "free GP appointments" would at least get in touch with the College of Primary Health Care Nurses, because they're really missing a huge part of the problem by only centring GPs in their discussions, policies, and rhetoric.

#NZpol The "go slower" on emergency service buildings sounds off.

You’d think emergency service buildings should _always_ be built to higher standards, surely, and be high priority.

Likewise for buildings intended as safe havens in times of crisis.
Priority status will be removed from buildings such as *hospitals*, schools, *police stations*, and their remediation deadlines will be extended.

I mean you wouldn't want functional hospitals during a major earthquake rite??

Major overhaul of earthquake-prone building system announced
Approximately 55% of quake-prone buildings would be removed from the existing system — about 2900 buildings.

The economy must be going super good when the Reserve Bank Governor and Chair resign within six months of each other, having both conflicted with the Finance Minister over the role of the Reserve Bank and how it is funded to be independent. That's a sign of the recovery being around the corner.

Winston Peters is engaging in exactly the same kind of stochastic terrorism used by Brian Tamaki to inspire attacks on queer communities last month. These attacks resulted in seven people being charged with assault and indecent assault. 1/5

If you're wondering why we in New Zealand should be worried about the IPCA's incredibly ill-conceived 'helpful' suggestions for reforming protest law & requiring pre-approval, the effect of such laws in the UK is exhibit A.

Regressive and incompatible with a free society.
This is outrageous. 'Paul Parker, recording clerk for Quakers in Britain, said: “No-one has been arrested in a Quaker meeting house in living memory.' I am sickened to read this.
Quakers condemn police raid on Westminster Meeting House
Police broke into a Quaker Meeting House last night (27 March) and arrested six young people holding a meeting over concerns for the climate and Gaza.

So what I suggest is more

'i think we need policy xyz, which is why I'm gonna vote Green or TPM because I don't think Labour will do XYZ if they don't have to'

And less 'lab must support XYZ and reject the lib centrist bullshit holding the country back'

Is curia wording Stuff polls now? Because asking if an apple and sandwich is good enough for lunch is not the issue. Starving kids in poverty is the issue.
This being their only meal of the day, is the issue. Working families in poverty is the issue.

Do you know what minimum wage retail jobs need? A high risk expectation from your employer to stop people who *may* be stealing
What a cop out that will result in so much violence when ultimately retail theft stems from a cost of living crisis and a lack of support

Every announcement this government makes is just baffling. Citizens arrests risk serious harm to both parties. Do not encourage your staff to do this. It breaches your health and safety obligations.

Hard no to Police demands for protests to seek permission. Discretion is discrimination, and this is simply a bid to criminalise protests for causes the police or council or the govt of the day would rather ignore

Which is the whole point of protest www.thepost.co.nz/nz-news/3605...

The proposed legislative changes would mean protesters could face criminal charges if they did not first get permission to protest.

With Brian Tamaki openly admitting he directly instructed his followers to storm the Te Atatu Peninsula Library on Saturday, I will be personally insulted if he isn't charged with inciting riotous behaviour likely to cause violence. He's directly and publicly admitted guilt.
