Yep
To everyone on Bluesky finding out about Walliams and despairing at the fact that "I read those books to my kids" I just want to reassure them that it's OK. He didn't write them.

This is diabolical. How can an AI justify or explain its choices, or use judgement and licence to translate in the context of the author’s overall style and intent? Translation is an art, not an exact science. One wrong word choice can change meaning entirely.
French publishing house Harlequin decided to use AI translation instead of human translations.

All their freelance translators (some of whom had been working with Harlequin for +30y!!!) were told they would no longer receive work from Harlequin

Just got home with a box of chicken. Bit tipsy. Decided to watch a 1993 episode of Surprise Surprise. Cilla surprises a man who, as a child twenty years before, starred in a Hovis bread advert but hadn’t seen it since because that’s how telly worked in those days. ANYWAY, they play the ad and…

Wow!
An engineer came to set up my Hive Home Hub. He left, and I realized it wasn’t set up right, so I went on the online chat. Highlights:

“Oh dear” when I said the engineer had gone.
Asked if I wanted to come back after I’d “calmed down.”
Told I wouldn’t get a refund on the installation. 😂

This has been driving me nuts for months. I don’t use autocorrect, and I sometimes type one-handed with my right thumb so thought maybe I was just getting thumbsy, but I still often get the wrong letter even when I can clearly see I tapped the right one.

Crack down on audience bad behaviour. It’s ruinous.
I am not sure how to get people back into theaters or if it's possible, but I do know that if the strongest remaining argument is "you SHOULD," or something about the holiness of the collective big-screen experience, the battle is lost. That has no traction with people who don't already believe it.
