• When supply exceeds demand, some grid operators pay consumers to take their power
• In some Australian places rate of negative pricing is ~25%; Canberra considering creating free power hours

More than that, countries broadly following the (Nordic) Social Democratic model are at or very near the top of practically every measurement of societal achievement _ever devised_.

All measurements have issues and any one statistic could be flawed.

But when they all point to the same direction…
Finland tops the global happiness index, which suggests that other countries should use it as a model.

I gave Volodymyr Zelenskyy a copy of my book "Invasion" at the presidential palace in Kyiv. Seconds after we sat down for an interview the electricity failed, plunging us into darkness! Zelenskyy seemed relaxed, good-humoured and resilient, after almost four years of full-scale war. A remarkable guy

In the Arctic (the 15 million km² area above the Arctic Circle), October was the warmest on record: 4.5°C above the 1981-2010 average, that's over 5°C above pre-industrial temperature!
It's not every day that both poles set new monthly temperature records (see my earlier post). Last month also observed the warmest October on record for the #Arctic Circle. Not great!!
