The actual cause of the blasts remains unknown. It’s just all innuendo, paranoia and misinformation to feed fear and hate. Everything that works for fascists.

The problem with the complete collapse of independent media into a morass of state propaganda is that, when it matters, there is literally no reliable information. The Delhi blast today could be anything. All I know is that they will manufacture terrorists to prosecute more anti-Muslim pogroms.

THE RUNNING MAN is propelled by Glen Powell’s powerful charisma and a handful of engaging action sequences. But its pacing is tedious, the writing is clunky, and the tone never really reaches a level that is consistently thrilling. Wright’s efforts mostly feel bland and mundane.

Heads up, people who voted in the Seattle mayoral race.
There are 1,700 ballots that need signature confirmation. That is enough to change the election.

Go. Check. Your. Ballot.

Let a single person feed their family with food stamps when they don't "deserve" the benefit and Republicans will be filled with such rage that they'll take away those benefits from millions of others.

Meanwhile the administration is doing this:

This hidden provision is so crooked and selfish, it doesn't even apply to US Representatives. Just US Senators.
Look at this new outrage. To open govt, we're retroactively letting 8 Senators sue for $500K each over having had their J6 phone toll records looked at. www.nytimes.com/2025/11/10/u...

So what did other cultures do before prisons.

Prisons were only for people you could not kill...and those people were captives or hostages essentially. Royals. People with money and/or allies.

Aztecs would enslave you, but the word 'slavery' means LOTS OF DIFFERENT THINGS. Aztec 'slavery' ...
yeah it's quite wild to think that PRISONS were ...a reform from maiming people or killing them.

American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

I still think that the pain of "gov't shutdowns" should be shared by those responsible for negotiating.

I also think that true democracies would not allow core state functions to grind to a halt over budget reconciliations because core functions should be funded from a separate pot.
