Evidence that Long Covid is fundamentally a disease of mitochondrial dysfunction is becoming overwhelming. Exciting b/c this points toward both potential diagnostics and future therapeutics. I wish my wife could have lived to see this hopeful progress.

Conclusion about hire the health system needs to change to take account of post-infection illness absolutely spot on… the next pandemic is only a matter of time - we must prepare not just to cope with the acute phase- but also the aftermath.

Clear clinical statement. Treating tobacco dependence as a disease = person centered approach to managing nicotine withdrawal. Important to prescribe sufficient nicotine substitution products immediately, and give patients access to the most effective evidence based treatments for smoking cessation
