IMO, the most revealing part is Klein wrestling with the question of where "the line" is (between acceptable and unacceptable politics). Realizing that what he considered past the line is now the GOP mainstream doesn't make him commit harder to fighting it. He wonders if he needs to move the line.

Absolutely. ABP and county councils need to simplify the process for permitting this kind of instal, and not give primacy to arbitrary hurdles and objections. Say to me honestly that a sleek little fence post looking charge arm looks worse than the cars and whatnot already littering the kerbs.

Often unclear how long orders remain in effect. If you’re ordered south, and the area south of you had a similar evacuation order a month ago, is that order still in effect?

We need to build some real social stigma around being afraid of cities. You don't have to like them or live there, but a politics built this strongly around watching TV and going "ewww" is embarrassing, and people should be embarrassed by it. It's like "fear of werewolves" being your top issue.
