It is remarkable that the media shows next to no interest in the fact that the republicans have absolutely no idea what they are going to about healthcare outside of destroying it.

“Why can’t you just all work together? After all, the right simply wants to imprison anyone who doesn’t genuflect before a Trump portrait 3 times an hour. What happened to common ground?”
It’s important to achieve bipartisanship with Republicans so they can arrest Barack Obama for something they read on the Epoch Times’ Facebook page written by a Chinese cult member in 2019.

The U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida called a division-wide meeting this afternoon, following the resignations of two prosecutors who were asked to take part in a vast "conspiracy" investigation into former intel and law enforcement officials.

All Americans deserve access to affordable, quality healthcare. Full stop.

This deal doesn’t deliver the results that Americans are rightfully demanding and if it comes to the House, I will be a hard no. I have and will continue to hold the line - no matter what.

Not only that but the fact that what's going on is so clearly unpopular. Cornell getting late to a party and bringing more beer for the guy that has already thrown up twice.
Imagine doing this after watching everything over the last 10 months.

Starting a gofundme for anyone at the @nytimes who will leak all the draft versions that would have been published had things gone the other way.

I bet they had 9 stories and an emergency Erza Klein podcast ready to go with "Cuomo's historic victory proves us irrevocably right about everything"
LOL, naturally the NYTimes, engaging in just the most open self-parody, has a big homepage video for Ross Douthat "Mamdani's victory is less significant than you think" so you have to scroll down to see anything else, because they have to be sullen and bitter about it.
November 5, 2025 at 6:49 PM
Starmer Kleinism is not just ethically bad but morally dangerous.
if you start from the view that there's a policy compromise you can make that will calm people down, you can end up supporting some very authoritarian stuff very quickly

The legacy press has 2 political stories -

#1: the Right won because they understand the concerns of 'real' Americans. The Left must give up on having values of any kind.

#2 the Left won but that doesn't mean that it shouldn't give up on having values of any kind.

Another beautiful thing: Cuomo victory would have meant a whole new week of grim podcast appearances for Ezra Klein's politics of nothingness.

Will be so happy not to hear from that void.
November 5, 2025 at 12:14 PM
The other thing about this speech is that the only reason it sounds radical to the some people is because so many politicians are afraid to state, and fight for what's obviously right.
November 5, 2025 at 4:43 AM
Listening to Mamdani the clearest thing is that he actually has love for the people that he is asking to govern rather than contempt. This is remarkably powerful and frankly, uncommon.

More politicians should try it.
