Just had a sort of inverse conversation with an alcoholic family member, where I had to explain that everyone drinking to excess at every occasion is also not fun because it's like being the DD when your friends wanna go bar-hopping and everyone's drunk but you./
Just a friendly reminder as we go into the holidays:
Folks don't have to explain to you why they don't drink.
If you offer them a drink and they decline, don't ask them why. It's not your business.
Just offer them something without alcohol to drink instead. And move on.

My husband gave me his old Samsung watch, since my Garmin vanished, and it has the option not to auto-update. Which is cool because the update has a bunch of AI stuff in it.
Now it won't let me sign in unless I update. Think I might bite the bullet and buy a new damn watch.

You know what? Think I'm gonna treat all my kid's art like gold, when I have one. Teach them to save and catalogue their work like it means something, even when it feels silly. A skill I wish I'd understood better and had to learn on my own.

People are big mad about the live cast of One Piece, and honestly I get where he's coming from. It's something I think about a lot, both in deciding the cast of my own series and pondering the "what ifs" of adaptation. I think some of my flex points would definitely piss people off.

I've done something like this. Got so used to grackles and cowbirds that to this day crows look like ravens, and I'm still not sure what a raven looks like. Terrifying, probably. 🤣
