I wrote the 1st draft of Loophole in 2022, when I was pregnant with my daughter. A lot has changed since then, but my mission with this novel remains the same: to provide positive coping skills for children dealing with anxiety! 🥰
(1/4)
I just wrote more of my current WIP... for the first time in MONTHS. 867 brand new words. I guess I have more to say after all. If I could bottle the relief I feel, I'd be a rich woman. This is the life, #WritingCommunity! ✍️🥳

I've got a #theory:
Stories that resonate most with each of us are a window into our soul. Look closely at your favorite #stories to decode your strengths, weaknesses, secrets, and potential. Characters strike a chord within us because they are us. Wonder further.📖🪞

I'm a simple human being. It makes me happy when other people are happy. I want everyone to win. 😘
I'm well aware the world doesn't always work that way, but I'll cheer for your personal accomplishments, regardless. 👏

#kidlit authors, how do you motivate yourself given the current climate of the industry toward MG and YA books? What keeps you excited about writing in those genres? 🤔

(P.S. Middle grade is my happy place!)

PSA: Though it's currently naptime in our neck of the woods, we've got a free concert with songs from Frozen going down right now courtesy of my 3 y/o daughter! No microphone necessary. Her voice echoes through the entire house. 🤦‍♀️❄️🎤

Today is the first page of your new 365 page manuscript. Fingers crossed each of us writes a comedy versus a horror. One thing I know: though there are bumps and bruises along the way, we choose the direction of our story. Keep moving forward, #WritingCommunity! 🥰

I'm so flattered and grateful to be included in this phenomenal list. Of 257 books read, Loophole made her top 6. I never thought my name would be next to Suzanne Collins. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness! 🥰

Curious question for all the #parents out there. How often do your children visit or interact with their grandparents? Also, do they live in close proximity to you? Thanks for indulging me! 🥰

In 2025, I released my 2nd MG book, Loophole! My hope for next year is to grow the # of reviews. Here's what past readers said:
"Beautiful and engaging"
"Deep empathy"
"Obsessed with this book and I never wanted it to end"
Please DM if you'd like a free digital copy to review! 🥰

Confession time: I'm in love with words.
Give me the lengthy descriptions, the whimsical wordplay, the purple prose... Let literature swallow me whole. I read to lose myself in ink because only when I'm lost can I find who I truly am.
May this language love affair never end. 📖💜

Every year I offer the same advice to anyone who will listen:
Start a #gratitude jar. 🫙(It transformed my life.)
Jot a note when you experience little/big joys, place inside the jar, then on New Year's Eve/Day, empty the jar to reminisce.
Watching it fill up is a reminder... life can be good. 🥰
