Something that gets ignored in the popular narrative of the revolutions of the late 1980s-early 1990s is that almost all of them were decided by defections or splits within the ruling party. Doesn't matter if it was Taiwan or Romania.
People getting mad here about anyone saying it's good that MTG and Trump are fighting. I teach democratization every semester. The first slide says 'elite fracture.' That's always where it starts. It's good when people with bad politics are fighting one another.

Something, my Russian Lit professor pointed out to me is modifiers indicate where the privileged class of society is versus isn’t.
So “literature” versus “women’s literature” - they’re both books, written about human experiences, but the latter is not considered “full” culture

i feel like calling girls & women “females” is a bit dehumanizing. it’s what you use to describe corpses biologically, or animals or specimens. never heard anyone say “male founders” and prefer entrepreneurs or CEOs “who are women” over “female founders.”

I think that this became ultra-clear to me in large part because I've gone to a few theater productions when I was younger and watching Super Sentai, Kamen Rider and other titles and learning about how so many of the actors on them are theater actors, too, really made it all click for me.

Tokusatsu on stage and on TV work so well together in large part because it's basically a more financially—and perhaps, diverse—accessible form of theater. The rules are a bit different—the acting bigger, the props and costumes less concerned with hyper-realism of—and I think that's why it works.
The audience size here is also kinda nuts, the people yearn for Tokusatsu.
