That’s a lot of places on strike.
Very telling that the resistance is overwhelmingly being put up by the service industry. Where are the white collar workers?

Democrats Support Bill That Would Give ICE $10 Billion
The party has few good options for restraining ICE, which is flush with cash thanks to the passage of President Donald Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill.

ok, so what? if people don't *normalize* a police state, what should they expect from their elected representatives who ABSOLUTELY are acting like business as usual. This post should be addressed to your Democratic colleagues. The rest of us know this is not "normal" and expect ACTION from you all.
We cannot normalize this federal occupation of Minneapolis.

It is not normal to watch people abducted in front of our eyes—dragged from car windows, pulled from their homes, and children left without parents.

This is not about immigration. It’s about unchecked cruelty.

THE WOMAN WHO WAS DRAGGED OUT OF HER CAR AND ARRESTED BY ICE SPEAKS OUT…

We’ve all seen the videos, but it matters to hear Aliya Rahman say it herself.

📌 She says her treatment in custody was dehumanizing, and that officers completely failed to take her disability seriously.

A small note: terrible things are happening in Minneapolis. But also in Saint Paul. And in the suburbs. And though most of the push is in the metro, things are happening all over the state.

I've been trying to refer to the events as happening in the Twin Cities or in Minnesota.

I think it's very fitting that the Revolutionary HQ of Minneapolis is a sex shop (that DOES NOT have a glory hole) and Revolutionary HQ of Saint Paul is a toy store where you can get Settlers of Catan.

I am not exaggerating when I say ICE functions as a terrorist organization in the Twin Cities. The goal seems to be to harass and frighten people (the ones who are lucky enough to not be abducted, at least) and it's deeply unsettling when you learn they're in your neighborhood.

A lot of good businesses are closing on Friday to participate in the ICE Out General Strike. But make sure to support these places on the other days. A lost Friday is a tough thing for a restaurant or bar. Also use this as a barometer for the types of businesses you want to support.
ATTENTION.
On Friday, January 23rd, we will be closed as part of the ICE OUT general strike opposing the federal occupation of Minnesota.

I’m the one in the brown hat.

What you might not see is the victim in the car. His feet are pointing out the open car door. An agent is sitting on one of his legs. He’s only wearing crocs.

Bystanders found his legal work visa in his abandoned car.

This is what happened in our neighborhood yesterday. ICE snatched a human being off of our streets, roughed them up badly, and then pepper sprayed legal observers as they documented it all. This is a daily occurrence happening all throughout Minnesota right now.

You go to the local park for an Art Sled rally. The turnout is robust even though it’s 11 degrees and protests are occurring in multiple places around the city. Over half of the sleds have an anti-ICE theme.

I just want people to know that there is no active insurrection, no regular protests, no rioting or whatever. The only time people are in the streets is when masked armed ICE thugs descend on one of our neighbors to disappear them as part of a federal government-led ethnic cleansing campaign.

We’re so proud of the way community showed up to protect our neighbors today. Just as a federal judge ruled last night, we know that observing and showing up for each other is not a crime. We need everyone to keep patrolling in the streets as we fight against the hate coming at us.
