🚨"It doesn't matter how careful people are when drivers are dangerous [and vehicles are dangerous] and infrastructure insufficient."🚨
A good reminder tonight of why I do what I do.

I got home from work and my wife told me that a driver nearly hit her and Gus in a crosswalk. She told me how she's "always so careful there."

But it doesn't matter how careful people are when drivers are dangerous and infrastructure insufficient.

I don’t know how many times I’ve watched this video.

I don’t know how we’ve gotten to the point where men in full balaclavas can abduct daycare teachers while they’re watching children.

But I do know that this isn’t sustainable. Abolish ICE. There is no way to reform this.

As a lawyer who has done exactly one trial and sworn off it forever, I’m always in awe of trial attorneys who can distill arguments down in this kind of relatable, legally-devastating way.
Compares the incident to when an 8-year-old is “in the middle of a bedtime temper tantrum” and “takes that stuff animal with which he sleeps…and throws it at you. Are you offended?…Are you scared you might suffer bodily injury? No.”

Mainers have until tomorrow to reject a voter suppression effort pushed by Leonard Leo’s money and the unrelentingly deceitful Yes on 1 campaign.

In Dorchester the city shuts down Melville Ave and surrounding streets and it is the most delightful mayhem. The whole neighborhood is out in the streets, best night of the year.

Seconded.
Nothing better than a moonlit street crowded with screaming kids in costumes. Falling leaves. Cold breezes. Smell of the fire pit. Halloween is easily the best night of the year in Massachusetts.

A Defector post based on a close read of the Massachusetts Corporations Division database involving Boston sports and Dorchester real estate feels like it was created in a lab to appeal specifically to me.
I dug through the paperwork for all 18 LLCs that Jordon Hudson has registered with Massachusetts since she started dating Bill Belichick.

They tell the story a young woman with big plans for her and her boyfriend.

Kat is being federally charged by the FBI for protesting at Broadview.

This is a flagrant political prosecution by the Trump administration, which is trying to prevent free speech and free association.

I am proud of Kat. Her movement is being targeted by the government. She needs your support.
I have been charged in a federal indictment sought by the Department of Justice.

This political prosecution is an attack on all of our First Amendment rights. I’m not backing down, and we’re going to win.

It is pretty great having many of Boston's departments and teams active on Bluesky. The difference in engagement speaks for itself and it's all around a great addition to our city's social media toolkit.

All official accounts are available in this starterpack: bsky.app/starter-pack...
@boston.gov onboarded all their agencies to Bluesky to engage with Bostonians. Whether it's broken sidewalks, missing signage, or community issues, they want to hear from constituents. With little to no engagement on X, their actual interactions on bsky have increased. Engagement > follower count

I have long believed that we should be WAY more vocal about how police and ICE constantly murder dogs, and I think this is great messaging actually.

The reality is that you can mobilize a whole lot of usually tuned-out Americans around a “someone is being mean to hecking doggos” cause.

We had Angela Davis speak at my university a couple of years back. One of the many insightful things she said - protest in the way that aligns with your passion. If that’s poetry do poetry or music etc. Because then you will be able to sustain it. If naked bike rides are your passion, 100% do that.
Someone in my mentions is upset because these people haven’t suffered the worst at ICE’s hands and therefore they shouldn’t be praised for being out on the streets?

Yeah, no. To push back on these people we need everyone — especially those with relative privilege — to get up and get involved.
