You honestly don't have to show me what Twitter's saying. That's why I'm here and not there.

And on the subject of #realartatters: AI poisoning tool NIGHTSHADE is now free for artists to use: venturebeat.com/ai/nightshad...
Nightshade, the free tool that ‘poisons’ AI models, is now available for artists to use
The tool's creators are seeking to make it so that AI model developers must pay artists to train on data from them that is uncorrupted.

My gut feeling right now is that once we get past this AI LLM boom and bust cycle, the skill of knowing how to have an imagination and how to create stories with your own human skill will be even more valuable than before. I would spend this time learning how to do everything you can to nurture that

As much as I am an SFW artist, that doesn't mean this kind of censorship is okay. NSFW works, artists, etc. are just as important as the rest of the art world. Just because you may not like it doesn't make it wrong.

I changed the way I work a couple of months ago to follow this advice, it made a big difference and my productivity went up by miles.

Alright, it's official. I'm starting to get into Linux. I need to remove myself more from Microsoft. I tried Zorin, Hyprland, and Plasma.

still thinking about this.

somehow this made me realize that brainstorms for more content or features always include suggestions for both reshaping the core experience, or working with existing systems and tuning them.
One tricky thing about player feedback is that often the loudest comments don't distinguish between Bad Tuning and Bad Structure.

- Structure: Fundamental systems are broken.
- Tuning: Fundamentals are fine, but knobs are set poorly, shifting dominant strategies towards frustration

I just got laid off from Xbox's publishing team, alongside many others.

Open community roles are welcome, but if you could send recommendations for games or other works of art that have helped bring you creative fulfillment recently, I'd deeply appreciate it. 💖

There’s a lot of commotion about the Godot Foundation being sponsored by an AI company right now. I too avoid generative AI where possible for all the ethical and environmental reasons & I didn’t like seeing this.

In this particular case, I don’t think it’s very worrying. Thread 🧵👇🏼

This is a very bad look. A very negative signal from the project leadership to the community #godot #godotengine #indiegames

😵‍💫 it's **finally** done! I'm introducing some high-level tools that you can leverage with just one line of code. It will automatically correct for the display scale and size things based on your theme size and the native resolution. Spare yourself the pain I went through 😭

Indies will not save us until y'all start demanding Valve take a smaller cut of revenue from them. Because that 30% cut is responsible for more indie studios folding after their 1st game than anything else in this industry
I get really irked when I see people post “indies will save us” or “the laid off devs should go indie” THERE IS NO MONEY publishers are cancelling contracts, angel investors/venture capital don’t want small returns. I think they mean hobbyists with a day job working doubletime & that is a rough ask
