you can make and bake procedural decal trims with ucupaint

another blender mapping tip - the quickest vanilla way to call Follow Active Quads is Right Click + F in the UV panel. it lets you continue a tiling texture from active face to newly extruded walls

if the active face is not a rectangle just make it into one by running Unwrap on it first

took me a bit too long to learn how easy it is to fill vertex color on selection in blender (1/2 to switch to face or vertex, W to select, Ctrl+X to fill selection, then you can do paint->smooth vertex colors if you need to)

Considering pill tab design for inner tabs of the new godot ui theme
December 21, 2025 at 6:59 PM
btw godot's auto editor UI scale is very large by default. if you're just getting into godot I recommend fucking around with display scale in settings to see if non-default works better for you

compare i.e the size of UI is in godot by default compared to blender's default on a hidpi 16'' macbook:

I'm thinking runtime/design-time is merely a suggestion with godot because the editor is very small and you can ship it with your game to run import/export pipelines at runtime by launching it as a subprocess

could be useful for generating game content or full standalone games at runtime 🤔

you can't beat the eloquence of s&box devs

ready for tonight 🍿

There's now also a github discussion for feedback on the new theme if you prefer github! It's a freeform discussion, all comments are welcome, short or long, positive or negative!

that escalated 💀

Godot 4.6 is nearing beta and we need feedback on the new UI theme!

A lot of issues have already been fixed and it's in a better shape than my external gdscript theme could ever be. Still I consider this only the first step towards better UI in godot

Let me know what you think about it so far!

my most used words on bluesky in 2025. if you look closely you may notice that I post about blender and godot

for real though godot is one of the few projects out there that actually democratizes gamedev instead of talking about democratizing it
This has been a great year for the engine, but there are still a lot of things we would love to do.

If each person visiting our website donated €5, we could hire 5 more developers to work on Godot full-time.

5 euros for godot is insane value, these cyber monday deals are getting out of hand 🤯

made a fun little godot-blender viewport camera sync miniapp

no addons on either side, no build steps, just a single js module file that's loaded in tauri that has code in all 6 languages (html, css, js, python, gdscript, bash)

just one more video before going to sleep
November 30, 2025 at 5:23 PM
playing with tauri, made a thing that watches godot source code and recompiles/restarts the editor automatically

what would you do with this space?
November 29, 2025 at 9:25 PM
so apple is abandoning applescript/jxa and leaving us with no way to control things like window focus, display brightness, system volume etc from shell without first pre-creating shortcuts in a gui app? not cool apple
November 27, 2025 at 1:20 PM
what if I made a code runner app that reads scripts from a folder on disk and lets them draw their own simple guis inside of the runner app for one-stop os level tooling, daemons, task automation, etc? I cant find anything like that and I would love it for rpc workflows. could make it in godot
