kitsune tails is queer furry super mario bros 3, with a big mid-game twist to both the story and mechanics. it also has aro/ace representation, *and* allows players to make and share their own levels and even minigames via steam workshop. available on steam and itch via kitsunegames.com/kitsunetails
fun fact: the game logic in block game is completely separated from windowing, input, data, and rendering
i could replace the way data's loaded (block/entity info) completely, or replace the entire renderer, or switch to a different engine entirely and the game logic would never need to be altered

Talking to one of these types at a con who asked how I 'got in' with so many 'famous writers' who I'd been talking to and I said "we made friends before anyone knew who we were decades ago by striking up interesting conversations and enjoying each other's company" and he kept re-asking the question.
