I like obscure old video games and make a lot of videos about them. I've documented all of the Nintendo Famicom library and I'm currently working on the PC Engine.

Hello, new followers!

My magnum opus is Famidaily, a complete catalog of the Famicom library across 1065 episodes. Every cartridge is broken down with information putting it in context, how to play it, and what kind of response it got.

For Random Game Saturday, have a twofur... or maybe tenfur. Remember when the Xbox 360 was new and not everyone connected their system to the Internet (okay, I still don't) and they released Xbox Live Arcade stuff on disks? These even throw your system into the blades interface!

Having a small party tomorrow and that means I'm going to make a ton of gyoza.

Good news: I figured out a recording configuration to improve the footage of my upcoming anniversary video.

Bad news: I now need to re-record and re-edit sixty games worth of footage in the next three days.

Hudson had turned the peachboy Momotarou into their unofficial mascot with RPGs and board games, and that means it's time for mascot platformer! Momotarou Katsugeki on the PC Engine gave him some action that included a few features that were ahead of their time...

Important safety tip for someone other than me. If you're moving a plinth with a large, fragile bust on it, remove the bust before you start pushing things.

"I didn't realize it would be top heavy." 🤦‍♂️

If a battleship can't get me to Iscandar, I'm not interested in it.

I found the worst baseball game. Major Dream: Major Wii: Perfect Closer is one of the most notorious video games ever released in Japan and there's more things wrong with it than you can imagine.

These days animation studios have to use AI to make errors like this.
part of the magic of fixing Charlie Brown's tree involves making Shermy appear out of nowhere.

Why does no one heed my ominous, sinister warnings that contain no information about the threat I'm trying to make them aware of? It's hardly worth my time to intone "If you proceed, it will doom you all!" and mysteriously vanish while not answering follow-up questions.

Sekigahara is a traditional wargame for the PC Engine that focuses in on a single battle. It's also one of the worst wargames I've ever played.

I'm kind of excited to see the response to my Christmas video this year. It's all about a game that's totally unknown outside of Japan and will make people go, "Wait, what?!" every time I explain anything about it.

I had to take a look and see if it was an upcoming video where I had a few lines making fun of battleships or if that video was already live...

Because battleships have been a bad idea since about 1940 even if it took people in the forties a few years to realize that war... war always changes.

Turkey breasts were less than a dollar a pound. So now my freezer has a bunch of turkey in it and I'll be roasting them for the next two months.

Quick question for people: someone asked me to buy some Christmas crackers for our holiday get together later this week. Is there a particular one that someone would recommend ordering?

I know the fact that they're just cheap junk is part of the fun, but playing dropshipper roulette on Amazon isn't

The good news about Jack Nicklaus' World Golf Tour for the PC Engine CD-ROM is that the game contains more real world golf courses than any other console game to that point.

The bad news is everything else.

I wish that they'd stop making everything objectively worse because I'm suposed to become a cranky old person who's wrong when they say things were better in the old days.

I propose that "JRPG" should refer to a particular movement like "French new wave". As such, it is solely for the games that were designed and developed in response to Dragin Quest II. JRPGs came to a close after 1990 when the final explosion of DQII games occurred.

For Random Game Saturday, how do you follow up one of the most beloved SF adventures of all time? Well, you fire the developer of that game, make absolute trash starring puppets, and dump it out way too early. Star Control 3 ranks up there with the greatest game disappointments.
