Court filings reveal a bombshell: A former cellmate of one of the informants said he knows that the story the state used to convict Wood—the purported jailhouse confession—was made up with the help of El Paso police.
David Wood, Set for Execution, Says He Was Never the 'Desert Killer'
Wood’s attorneys have requested that more than 100 additional pieces of evidence be tested for DNA, but the state has opposed the request for over a decade.

SCOOP: FEMA's top lawyer was forced out yesterday after less than a week on the job—and sources tell me it was because of his unwillingness to write a memo providing legal cover for the agency's impoundment of $80 million from NYC migrant shelters.

Full story:
FEMA’s top lawyer placed on leave after less than one week in role
It may be tied to a lawsuit about funding for migrant shelters.

Last I checked, WaPo's vote wasn't counting in Ukraine.
If you haven’t yet, it’s time to ditch the Post. Unforgivable.
this appears to be the new regime oped page at wapo. WOW.

While we're on the subject — "amateur," doesn't mean "bad/low-skilled."

All it means is that you don't do it for money.

So today, some of y'all learned that, if you get reimbursed for your work at all, in any form— you're a professional artist.

Yes, that includes trading art for social support
hey

you.

stop calling yourself an amateur or budding artist in your bio

You're an artist.

Because endless finger-wagging and continuing to grant unanimous consent is such a shining example of "leadership."
Exactly two people are celebrating the United States’ great abdication:

Trump and Putin.

The world weeps. Europe acts. And decades of U.S. leadership have been lost.

i mean the oscar broadcast was enjoyable but it feels like a cultural victory for fascism that hollywood is too scared for even vague platitudes about resisting.

Daily reminder to myself that rolling back fascism requires of me and everyone broad solidarity with factions I might find deeply objectionable in milder times. That’s much of the heavy lifting.

Given an easy opportunity to criticize Putin, Gabbard immediately pivots to bashing Zelenskyy

There’s a major shift in U.S. cybersecurity policy. A recent CISA memo removed Russia from its list of priorities, focusing instead on China and local systems. Analysts were told not to track Russian cyber threats.

I've heard this my whole life, and it's part and parcel to the "just vote for the lesser evil, bro" narrative.

Sure, it may work in the short term. But in the long term — it gets us right where we are.
Love how every single liberal party strategy is “moving right wins elections” then when moving right repeatedly fails to win elections cause they’re running against OPENLY RIGHT-WING PARTIES they just go “Well clearly we didn’t move right enough.” Like even a child could tell you what’s wrong

We've gone completely past norms at this point. Civility and decorum aren't going to be what rolls it back.
Maybe dem reps could hold their own state of the union on the Capitol steps. Steal the spotlight. Let members like AOC, Jasmine Crockett, Max Frost, and the DNC make remarks. Norms don't exist. Buck them.

Wow that doesn't sound like a conflict of interest at all.
Officials at the FAA have directed staff to identify tens of millions of dollars to fund a Starlink deal for upgrading air traffic control communications. Staff has been instructed to find the funds while minimizing documentation and avoiding a paper trail.

Think too about how advertising works. It's a flood strategy. Everywhere, all the time.

You have to be your own biggest advocate — and shameless self-promotion is very much a part of that.

It doesn't have to be fake — take pride in your work and share what you make. Just do it a lot.
To my fellow creatives: try not to feel guilty about talking about your work. Art is never more important than when things suck.
