This time of year, my brain is always about 10% thinking about "Christmas Wrapping." I haven't heard the song yet in the wild, but it always excites me when I do. A few years ago, I wrote about the song's greatness! anniezaleski.substack.com/p/the-greatn...

We pulled the plug on this documentary 15 minutes in. The AI recreated "voice" of Ed is gross. I didn't realize they'd done this before starting it and it was SO obviously AI we just turned it off. A dumb, and unnecessary, decision filmmakers.
REVIEW: "Sunday Best: The Untold Story of Ed Sullivan” uses an AI recreation of his voice in the film, which I think is the wrong decision

But otherwise it is a worthwhile documentary (on Netflix) exploring his commitment to featuring Black talent on the show when segregation was the norm

Watching his talents more closely here, I have a real appreciation for what he was doing — and how he did it — during a period of profound social change.

Be advised that with only three viewing experiences, we have the sum total of what the American entertainment industry has to say about Thanksgiving.

1. Planes, Trains & Automobiles in full.
2. The camp play carnage in Addams Family Values
3. The clip below.

After that, it's all just football.
47 years ago today, dozens of turkeys met their unfortunate demise in a Cincinnati parking lot.

Wondering why no one likes your posts anymore, even among your friends? It's because @jay.bsky.team and team have decided to hide a huge amount of content from all of our feeds by default.

Here's how to turn it off.

I have been traveling and today I present to you...the thing I saw in the Frankfurt airport.

Is it efficient? Undeniably. Does it probably work better than the normal way? Oh certainly. Produce less of a mess? Probably?

But the existence of Condiment Udders gives me a deep, aghast disquiet.

Oddly the San Diego Air & Space Museum had no descriptive placard about this jetpack. But I believe that it was flown at the 1984 Olympics. Sadly they didn't have any for sale at the gift shop.
