Behold, our stuff: http://linktr.ee/secretgalaxy
I just stumbled across this ebay listing of a comic book that I self published (and autographed) back in 2001! AND 2 of our promo stickers. Very curious if the seller is someone I know. Clearly they did not bag and board it. www.ebay.com/itm/33552667...

These are the things that pop into my head when I see collectors taking their military toys a little too seriously.
It’s been too long since I thought about GIJoe’s widdle vehicles for it’s widdle guys

For further context twitter added a button that allows users to generate ai images using existing art posts from artists. It removes glaze and it basically reskins the artwork by using the existing work as a base. Twitter is no longer a safe space for art

The world of Plunderlings keeps expanding and I'm absolutely loving it. 2 figures from the new Plunderbeaks branch as gorgeous and fun as the previous figures.

Big thank you to my local comic shop @dmcomics.bsky.social for hooking me up with Boba Fett no. 575. Took the opportunity to clean out my pull folder as well. Lots of GIJoe and Transformers.

Every year leading up to my Top 10 I revisit the figures that are eligible for consideration. First up is every Jada Toys Street Fighter 2 figure released in 2025 that I purchased. Still a fantastic line of figures but not my top priority. I'll grab the rest as I see them along the way.

It’s been brutal the past month but I want to take a moment and compliment @danlarson.bsky.social and @secretgalaxy.bsky.social on the lighting of their latest episode. It’s just really good. There is clearly attention to detail to how things are lit.

If I had been in college and generative AI could have let me turn a photo or a drawing into a Gustave Dore-style woodcut (something I really wanted to do), I would've used it in a heartbeat, and I never would have learned to define form using cross-contour lines.

In short, using AI in your writing is among the dumbest things you can do as a writer as it exposes you to potential legal action while affording you zero legal protections. AI is a nightmare box for idiots. Don't fall into the trap of shortcutting your writing career.

Follow up on last repost. Those with money and power want to kill empathy so consumers no longer value the time and effort invested to deliver a message. So you won't care about the medium or the speaker, only the message. Then they can feed you any message they want to any way they want to.

Please read this whole thread about empathy and work and AI. It's friggin' fantastic.
I hadn't given much thought to the actual philosophy behind the "empathy is bad, actually" movement, because the people espousing it are so transparently anti-human that I never thought of it as having more depth than wolves having the philosophy "Sheep are tasty".

But I realized it matters to AI.

Again going to bang my drum:

*Even if* gen AI excelled at tasks
*Even if* gen AI had abuse-guardrails
*Even if* gen AI helped the environment & medicine

It’s still built on scraping the world’s creative labour without consent.

Gen AI is poisoned at the root.
It seems there are exactly two kinds of stories about generative AI:
1) wildly exuberant stories about what this stuff will do sometime really soon (trust us!), and
2) stories like this about how some actual use of gen AI fails fantastically

oh, wait, I forgot:
3) gen AI is pretty good at fraud
“Internal tests found that the AI was generating podcasts riddled with errors and bias, with anywhere between 68 and 84 percent of the scripts deemed unpublishable by evaluators across three rounds of testing.”
